Re: RPI 2010 Recruit Thread: Give Me Laliberté or Give Me Death!

Just updating the league Burlington is in to the Central Canadian Hockey League. I think the other part of the OJHL will still be called that, but in any case, I haven't seen a new name.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruit Thread: Give Me Laliberté or Give Me Death!

So I've been wondering whether I should comment on this thread title for a couple of weeks and after seeing it juxtaposed with the regular season thread enough times thought I'd make a comment. If it weren't for the death of NM, then I think the thread title would be fine. However, when I read it with the other one it looks like we are either mocking the death of NM (which is ridiculous I know) or asking for more sad news.

A slightly altered title which might have worked is "Give us Lalilberte or give Clarkson Death" or something along those lines.

I was hesitant to write this comment as I'd rather not criticize Ralph. I just think any time the two threads appear together, it seems a bit cavalier.

That is a very good point, and I had I realized it, I wouldn't have chosen this title. Your title is better in any case.

Oh well!

We know that was the furthest thing from your mind RB...we all mourn Nate's passing. Besides, you did make it clear that others were free to start the new thread. I

Re: RPI 2010 Recruit Thread: Give Me Laliberté or Give Me Death!

Three recruits' teams played on Friday, and none of the boxes are on line yet. Hopefully, they will be sooner or later. The teams are Aurora (Quinn), Cornwall (Laliberte), and Olds (Tinordi).

Here is a thread about Aurora's game that mentions that there were troubles with Pointstreak (http://www.network54.com/Forum/4415...gers+Outlast+Crushers+In+A+Wild+One+in+Aurora

Edit: Olds beat Drumheller 5-2, but the boxscore is not up, and it doesn't look like the AJHL is posting exhibition boxscores at all.

Newcomer Kevin Cole looked good, playing the right side on a line with Jacob Laliberte - he's Jake, in Coltsland -and Shane Avery.

Cole had a goal and an assist. Avery

scored twice and had three points, and Laliberte had three points.
That was Thursday's scrimmage, not Friday's exhibition. I have the bad feeling that "Jake" will be on the same line as recruit for the faux red all year. :( ;)

You would think they would have more fashion sense-everyone knows that faux red and cherry clash!

On Saturday, the Olds Grizzlys (Tinordi) beat the Drumheller Dragons 6-2. The boxscore is not posted.
