I don't have them set up for autoplay. This is the code that I use
with the < and > removed so that you can see the code. Note the autostart option. If anyone can tell me how I can change things, I would appreciate it.

Edit: Chrome seems to ignore the Autostart. It also requires more than a height of 20 to see everything. I wonder how I can put in some kind of IF statement to check on the browser type. It's too bad that I never learned HTML.

Try using this and see how it works. Works for me on Firefox, Chrome, and IE.

It seems like the crucial part is the type="audio/mpeg", at least on Chrome.

Yes, Chrome doesn't automatically detect the content like Firefox does, so you need to specify so it knows how to handle it.

Hopefully we can go back and change the old ones now so I don't have to mute my computer every time I view the thread in Chrome. ;)

Someone must have posted the prospectus already, but if so I missed it.

The prospectus mentions at the end that the new volunteer assistant coach is Brad Stoffers. He doesn't seem to have been a hockey player, but he was a strength and conditioning coach at BU. http://stofferstrength.blogspot.com/

Gazette's Bill Cain has a nice story today about Oates settling in with the Devils, including working on special teams especially the power play. No link -- thanks to Gazette's pay to play rules.

Ralph, in regard to the two versions of the alma mater, I vote for the first one.

All due respect to the second version, which is very pretty with the multipart harmony and all (We didn't have sopranos in the Glee Club in our day, did we, Ralph?), but the first one does more to remind me of what it's like to be at the Field House for a hockey game.

RC, catching up on my reading and wanted to comment on WaP Know thy Enemy: Cornell. Classic. Better than the movie Team America:D I wonder if Fat Mike drinks a fifth of JD like Kim Il does every night. Awesome, well done.

In honor of Johnny Rogic and Laura Guillemette, today is 23 September 2010. There are 12 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 5 October for the start of next season.

It looks like Allen York will be the featured RPI player on InCH this off season. They are already up to the letter T, and no one has shown up yet.

Re: RPI 2010 Offseason VI: The NHL's CBA Doesn't Appear to Have Been a Boon for the Tute.

Well, there was some interest, and of course no one volunteered to do it. I am still loking for a volunteer. I stole NMU's rules and modified them slightly. (I didn't eliminate references to shootouts, but I probably should.) Any comments?

RULES:

* Choose one player, per team, per night. (Thus one player for each date for RPI and a single player for each opponent.) Choose the players that you think will net you the most PtC points. Your picks must be in before faceoff on Friday.

* You get no points if you pick a goaltender and the game ends in a tie unless it is a 0-0 tie. The scoring for a goaltender is finalized after regulation and OT, if necessary. THEREFORE: shootouts do NOT count for or against a goaltender.

* Always make sure you pay attention to names, as some teams will have two players with the same last name. If you don't specify, you get no points.

* In case of difference, the game stats given on http://www.collegehockeystats.net/ will be used, not those on USCHO

Scoring is as follows

Forwards:
Goal - 2 points
Assist - 1 point
Shootout goal - 1 point

Defensemen:
Goal - 3 points
Assist - 2 points

Goalies:
Win - 2 points
Shutout - 3 points
Assist - 4 points

To get a greater variety of picks, the top scoring forwards and defensemen will be elimniated from contention. As the season hasn’t started yet, last year’s stats will be used now.

THESE PLAYERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE:

RPI:
F - Chase Polacek
D - Mike Bergin

Friday Opponent:
F -
D -

Saturday Opponent:
F -
D -

I won't do this for the UNB exhibition game unless people want to do it and not have it count for the season.
I won't start separate threads each week unless people think that we should.

I'll run it, if no one else steps up before the UNB exhibition game. Also, all shootout references should be removed (except for our tournament in November).

And, we may not need separate threads per week, but my opinion is that it should not be in the in-season thread.

Blonde question: will the contest be played on the game thread or is there going to be ANOTHER thread I will have to follow? I know the answer must be obvious but humor me?

No problem with having a single thread for the contest. The weekly threads are what seemed superfluous.
