Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Early departures suck!

D'Amigo was a treat to watch in the WJC and showed real talent and grit. If the Leafs even consider playing him in the OHL, Jerry should stay at RPI. Actually, I think he should stay at RPI this year PERIOD.

But in the future, could it be Tyler Bozak at Center and D'Amigo on the Wing.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Sadly, the other side of the argument is that Harry Zolnierczyk or someone else of that ilk could end the chance of JD'A ever getting paid for playing hockey if he doesn't take the money when he has the chance. JD'A was already a frequent target last season.

Bingo. I left this unsaid at WaP, but this is spot on.

Sadly that is the case. Of course, it would also have been the case had he been in the OHL last eyar -- perhaps more so, since the NCAA, at least in theory, is harsher with such actions.

I linked it on Hockey's Future and your list of traffic just filled up. :)

More confusion on my part...is JDA saying he will only sign a 2 way? if they offer the same $ would he go for a 3way? If he signs a 2 way and they decide he needs development 'below' that, how can he dictate? I don't understand all the speculation if the team owns his rights as a rookie. Help!

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

I looked it up but I must be dumb...what relationship does JDA have to the "Harry" incident:confused: ?

To the best of my knowledge -- none. I just picked his name as one who has the track record of being in the middle of such things.

Harry wassentenced for involvement in an underage girl being filmed having sex without her knowledge...I am still confused...do I have the wrong Harry? How does this relate to a player negotiating to become pro? Sorry RB...you're dealing with a rookie here (runner up for rookie of the year but standing by in case the winner is unable to fulfill his...errr...duties...)

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Two six point games.... I don't think we ever scored 6 goals in a game this past year. Unless they're counting goals/assists like soccer. Is this just a typo? Am I missing something?

He did not have two six point games so it was either a typo or bad information.

That's the same Harry. He was involved in an altercation with some RPI fans last season also. Someone who was there can probably remember the details.

Dirty Harry who now plays for Brown. Brown knocked RPI out in the first round playoffs largely by mugging Jerry and Pirri at every turn. Dirty Harry played a large role in executing Brown's pro-wrestling gameplan.

Bottom line is that Jerry took several hits last season that were at best questionable...and a couple of them could have been season-enders. Its not hard to believe that that is in the back of Jerry's mind.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Never go to sleep for the night after drinking heavily without having a fatty meal of some sort-bacon and eggs would do just fine. Also, drink plenty of fluids(non-alcoholic) when you get home. Basically all you can do to try to avoid the brain dehydration tht causes most of the problem. Just a friendly tip.
BTW much less likely to get a hangover if you only drink things you can see through.:)
1 quart of orange Gatorade and two Moody's before lights out... its never let me down

Thanks for the hits - I'm just surprised that the comment box didn't suddenly get similarly overrun by Hokydad clones.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

The funny thing about all of this is where has anything official confirmed these talks (exclude yahoo because its yahoo) no NHL site, AHL site , ECAC site , RPI site Official AHL twitter even gives a hint of any interest at all...... if Jerry is indeed on vacation where did this speculation come from?! on that note i give up on the matter and whatever happens is going to happen.

GO RED!

Well the Leafs and their affiliates aren't going public with anything, because they're in negotiations...more publicity/excitement would likely jack up Jerry's asking price. RPI isn't going to say anything because they're honoring Jerry's future interests (while not so secretly hoping he stays..)

If the Finger Lakes reporter is to be believed, he spoke to the D'Amigos while their are on vacation...I think he is the only guy who has quoted the family this week.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

After the World Junior performance he had where he went point for point with the best players in the world at his age, and given the fact he's now over 200 lbs, this signing should not come as a great surprise. He will develop no mattter where he plays, and this is a nice recruiting tool for the RPI progam. The Maple Leafs are the most followed hockey team in the world, and when he makes an impact at the NHL level, he will be taking the RPI name to the center of the hockey world.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Without a Peer special on Jerry - why his departure makes it an exciting time to be an Engineer fan.

RC - I haven't heard anyone talk about player attendance yesterday. Were Jerry and Pirri the only ones missing?

Not to be an alarmist but captains practices have begun. If Pirri isn't local, then I think we've got more than just Jerry to worry about.
