Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

No Jerry at dinner. I did not see BP either. I did not play golf because I had an appointment but maybe he (BP) was there earlier. I think Jerry is making a mistake but again while this is not good it shows the program's maturation under SA. When is the last time we had somebody leave after freshman year? Never. So we move on. This season in my humble estimation hinges on Allen. If he comes up big we can do good things. On a high note I did have four G and T's  so I do have a slight buzz as I write (I thought that this last line would score some points w DrD, got a ride home for any law enforcement officials who frequent the thread). Let's Go Red!!!!

I'd say it hinges on whether we lose one, two or no forwards. Call me paranoid, but I can't say as I'm too excited about BP not being there... :D

Great find FC..that's the most info we've had so far...while the odds might be slim, it sure seems like the door hasn't completely shut...yet. :p

The Toronto Sun had something on its website a hour ago, but it was mostly the same stuff we have been reading all afternoon. So I wont post the link.

Not sure if this was posted earlier but I found this in the Waterloo Record. Has a quote from Jerry who was on vacation in the Finger Lakes.

http://news.therecord.com/arts/NightLife/article/759067

Ken Schott reports on his FB page that he spoke with Kevin Beattie and Kevin claims that this reporter never spoke with Jerry. :D I think we're gonna need some of FD's soap opera music.

Oh this is interesting...I just posted what I found. I would really hope a journalist wouldnt do something like that. But in this day of blogs, podcast, twitter etc, I wouldnt doubt something like that happening.

Sounds like a case of he said, he said....:D

Gawd knows...I suppose the lawyers and agents are locked in a room in Toronto arguing over his jersey number while Jerry is waterskiing on Owasco Lake. :p

Like most of the rest of us, I'm assuming JDA is history. To be honest I don't have patience for more drama. Hopefully by tomorrow we'll know who wants to play forward for RPI. Nighty night.

This could get interesting if the reporter had a recorder with him....:D

I know we have plenty of guys not leaving that would love to play forward for RPI on a night in and night out basis. This may be a great tool for the guys who didnt get much play time last season to wake up, step up, and breakout with a huge season.

Amen brother. I did email the reporter Hicks, just to let him know what Schott was told by Beattie.:p

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

If Jerry does in fact leave I hope him the best. It would have been nice to see him for at least one more year at RPI.

Any chances Seth Appert can get Ilya Kovalchuk for us? Wouldn't hurt to try I guess. :D

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Hope that Jerry knows that they were going to give Sweatt more $$$. troyboy was right about Burkie. I better go to bed because I had to 2 rum and cokes at home after I got home from the dinner. Maybe DrD will post his remedy for hangover so I can try it in the morning :D

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

just thinking back to last year when JD'A came back with the Gold & the absolute muggings he endured by opposing teams. Does this all play in his decision? Whether he goes to the OHL, Toronto/Marlies...the physical play will probably be more intense but there would be one major benefit....he would be getting paid and perhaps as intimated by some, quite handsomely...of course, as with all who follow Engineer hockey, I sure would like one more season with him

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

The funny thing about all of this is where has anything official confirmed these talks (exclude yahoo because its yahoo) no NHL site, AHL site , ECAC site , RPI site Official AHL twitter even gives a hint of any interest at all...... if Jerry is indeed on vacation where did this speculation come from?! on that note i give up on the matter and whatever happens is going to happen.

GO RED!
