Re: Rit

RIT posters I have meet in person: :)

erickuzniar: Eric is a great guy and hope to meet up with him again at a game. Hope all is well! (Lets get some pizza and wings sometime. ;))

komey1: What a great hockey fan and supporter of the Tigers! May his parking spot and path always be clear of snow!

Mr. Hockey: Perhaps one of the funnest, most cleaver posters I have ever encountered on this board. He is missed. :( (But then again he never "went after" me for any reason.... :p)

Re: Rit

I live in the Town of Gates. My address and telephone number say I live in Rochester. I pay Spencerport school taxes.

Since when do geopolitical boundaries ever make sense...

Post office addresses have little to do with governmental boundaries. There are places in the Town of Berlin which have Northfield 05663 addresses. The PO address has more to do with truck routing than anything else. My sister's mailing address is Allentown, PA, but her house is in the town of Emmaus

This was my point. In Clinton county Beekmantown is the second largest school district. Beekmantown does not have its own post office!

Re: Rit

Family lives in Big Flats. Postal address is Horseheads.

Wow! Haven't been to Big Flats since 1975. Went there with my Firematic drill team to put on a demonstration with our "C" truck for the NY-Penn Firemens Convention. There had been a huge flood there a year or two before that. I remember the gliders flying off the mountains behind the area where we were camping.

Flood of 1972. Devastated Chemung and Steuben County.

Re: Rit

HAHA! really showing your "hickness" with that!
-my turn-
Live in Gang Mills. Postal address Painted Post. FWIW that's about 15 miles from Big Flats.

Within the town limits of Big Flats there is a mall, airport, applebees, chilis, red lobster, target, best buy, wendys, mcdonalds, outback steakhouse, olive garden, old country buffet, Sam's Club, Tops, Lowe's and Ruby Tuesdays.

Not bad for a "hick" town. :)

(Yes I realize every single one of those places probably have a Horseheads postal code but they are all within the town limits. Walmart even used to be in Big Flats until they moved out of the old joint to build the new Super Center down the road.)

Big Flats, N.Y...Biggest small town in America...

I feel like this post hurt your argument

Re: Rit

Agnes, right?

Correct sir. Hurricane Agnes, downgraded to TS Agnes after landfall. I believe it affected 13 states? For those of us from this area that are old enough to have been around then; everything is before the flood or after the flood.

Actually, most have an Elmira Address. Two towns between them (Horsheads and Elmira Heights), but they have an Elmira zip code. ***?!

And you forgot TGIFs, Texas Roadhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Cici's Pizza, Dick's Sporting Goods (blasphemy!), Panera Bread and soon to be 5 Guys Burgers and Fries! Not to mention that it's "The Soaring Capital of the World!"
