Brad McGowan signed in Greenville (ECHL) today: https://twitter.com/GvlRoadWarriors/status/631163403046883328

Also, did anyone see last week that Alex Roberts is now going to Utica College?

Have read Alex' twitter feed and he mentioned it has been a few tough weeks and now committed to Utica, don't think a team could go this late to de-commit and therefore I wonder if it was an eligibility requirement.

With Alex's (1994) size of 6'3" tall and 205lbs the kid put up some good numbers given his size. Have to feel for the kid and wish him and his family well for the future.

Given that he was pushed off to the '16-'17 season and had used up his junior eligibility, perhaps it was a clearing house issue. Whatever, he'll be playing in Utica and should be the stud on the team. Being from Vancouver, he'll be playing in the AUD along with the baby Canucks.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Roaring into the postseason <<<<<

When was the push to 2016/2017 happen?

A 1994 player in Jr. A in Canada can play up to the 2014/2015 season, so if he wasn't going to report to the 2016/2017 season that would be catastrophic as he wouldn't have a competitive Jr. A league to play out the additional year. I understand you can play one final year for Jr. B however tat would not be good as the competition level would not be there and poor habits would creep into his game. If the push came recently (this year) and was by the school that would be so unconscionable.

Roberts and Gabe Valenzuela were both listed as '15-'16 recruits but we're not listed in the athletic department announcement of the incoming class. Same thing happened with Kerins last year, but it sounded like he attended classes and is part of this year's incoming class. Roberts and Valenzuela are still both listed as 2016-2017 RIT recruits.by elite prospects.

Do these upcoming recruitment classes look stronger than the past few years?

Stat wise it looks stronger, but we've learned many times that success at Junior A doesn't always mean success at the college game. I do think this has the making to be a special class...

For RIT fans at least as old as I am and older, check out a little video I made with the help of former RIT Tiger David Bagley.

Do you remember when the Ritter was the loudest???

Still gives me goose bumps, and I still hate purple!

The EC defense sure didn't learn from their mistakes. All three goals were from guys wide open at almost the same spot on the ice.

The only difference between DI and DIII is the size of the stage.

Thanks for the memories of that game. It was crazy in the corner that night.

There is a lot of potential in this class for sure. Couple that with last year's freshmen D and we could be scary good in a year or two.

The second goal (1st in the video sequence) was good old fashion puck luck. Chafe just throw the puck at the net and it deflected in. Fayad's goal actually was more of a bad give away than defensive lapse, you don't see it in the video, but it was an intercepted pass and Fairborn had Fayad all alone in front and just put the puck right on his stick. The final goal I think Elmira just thought there was less time left than there was and no one got the front of the net. Sam Hill just told a story I never heard before. Apparently he sustained a pretty good cut right before the game winning goal while checking Kaye into the boards. After he scored he said Tino was like, Man your cute, and he was like, "It doesn't matter brother we just F-ing won!"

Elmira did get a bit of revenge in the ECAC West Championship the following year something like 2 or 3 goals deflected in off poor Matt Moore...

It's a lot of fun typing some of these old RIT names again...

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Roaring into the postseason <<<<<

...And not the quality of play?

Quite a few of the RIT teams of that era were AHA caliber DI teams. That said, current RIT teams would beat those RIT teams most of the time.

Those teams were likely 2007 AHA quality but not 2015. The league has made major strides. As have the Tigers. And I take nothing away from the teams of that era.

Just waiting for that first AHA team to win the national title... *please be RIT please be RIT*

As noted on the RIT subreddit, there are 3 more GA sections now. Sections 106, 107, and 108 (the 3 behind the net RIT defends twice) are now General Admission and not reserved.

I'm sure this was due to the overwhelming demand of GA (which sold out for a bunch of games last year), as well as how empty that half of the arena was last year at the lower attendance games.

links to rithockey.com don't work well due to their session IDs, but you can see the new seating chart there.

I think this past seasons success will create a large boost or at least a boost in attendance. GO TIGERS!
