Tanev could be roughed up if he plays this series. This Stanley Cup series is not the one that is going to bring the casual viewer to the sport due to the chippiness of the series. It may actually turned them away even more.

It's sad I had to put "if" based on how inconsistent the league has been about handing out suspensions. But Rome got 4 games, so we'll see what happens tomorrow![/QUOTE

Sporting news has either Tanev or Ballard being called upon for game four

News on another former RIT player... The Binghamton Senators signed Bobby Raymond to a PTO during the 2nd round, and they won the Calder Cup tonight. He played in 9 games(including game 1 of the finals) and was a +4 with 1G1A(including the GWG in game 2 of the 2nd round). This is the 3rd year in a row a former Tiger has been a part of a Calder Cup winning team. Maybe AHL teams should catch on and sign more of them ;)

Congrats to Bobby. I always enjoyed watching him race around the ice.

Looks like Ballard got the call (<a href="http://www.nhl.com/ice/m_news.htm?id=565227">link</a>).

Still a few games left, so stay tuned...

Cheers,
Dave

Ballard didn't look very good. I wonder if we'll see Tanev next.
I don't think most people looked good, it was painful to watch. Ballard and Bieksa did not communicate well at all like he and Tanev usually do. AV needs to do something with the D, because the loss of Hamhuis is having a bigger affect than it should have based on how their depth has responded all year. Hopefully they'll work it out, and it'd be pretty sweet if Tanev could be a part of the solution.

10/15 Union (Brick City Homecoming game @ Blue Cross)
Union hasn't released their schedule yet. It was the SLU schedule that was posted in the Schedules thread (and in their own team thread) that had them playing in Rochester on Oct 15th.

No, it's a new tourney that nobody knows about. They are starting it as Craige Ferguson stunk last year and they need to fill in that night for bcw. I vould be wrong about this but not about Fetguson. Tanev will play Friday, imho

Bieksa with some kind words for RIT's program in that NHL article as well:

"He's had a good year for us, he came kind of out of nowhere, came from a great program at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) -- I mean that seriously," said Kevin Bieksa, of the little known program in Monroe County. "It's an up and coming program, and (Tanev) is proof of that -- he's got a lot of poise for such a young guy.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Offseason 2011 - Dreaming About 2011-2012 <<<<<

How amazing would it be to see Tanev play tonight. Fingers crossed!

He got the required college hockey player mention from Doc just as the opening faceoff was about to happen. So RIT and the fact that Tanev played in the Frozen Four last season was mentioned on national TV. Yay!
Obviously he has no points yet, but really should have had an assist in 2nd. Tanner Glass fumbled away a wide open net opportunity off a great pass from Tanev that was pointed out by Enzo. Should have figured. Glass used to play for the Amerks and never showed any talent here either. Like Milbury said... "hard-working, but not very talented player in Glass".

Vancouver still playing all three D-pairs mid-way through the third period with a 1-0 lead. Enzo doesn't seem to think that's a good idea. Shows how much AV really likes Tanev and Alberts. Nice!
