Takin' care of buisness...gotta assume Rotolo will get both starts after pitching the shutout tonight.

I would think so given that they've gotten past a majority of their OOC games. Time to let Rotolo take the lead in net and see where it takes the team.

RIT certainly played a very good game. It's important to take care of business against teams that are expected to be near the bottom of the league and avoid the upset. Now they can get to .500 before the Bentley games, and that would be huge. I would love to see Rotolo to get the start again and get on a roll going into the tough Bentley games.

Can't help but notice that Miller is not in the lineup again. Does anyone know if something happened to him or if coach is losing interest in one of his captains?

The five minute boarding and game misconduct penalty against Army last night with less than three minutes to go was a check to Miller, he was slow to get up but skated off on his own to the bench, not sure if he returned to the ice after that as RIT was on the power play for the rest of the game.

I've been to three Army home games this year, against BC they a handful of game misconducts, against Bentley they took a two minute boarding which was close to a five, and then Bentley retaliated protecting their own and Bentley got the game misconduct, and then last night Army with another game misconduct. Maybe it's frustration but Army is leading D1 in penalties. RIT needs to play fast and smart tonight and not get involved in that style of play. The parade to the penalty box gets old fast.

And another misconduct tonight, puts Army up over 20 minutes in penalties just 10 minutes into the game.

I hope these cadets learn to keep their heads on straight before they get into the trenches. Last thing we need is an army full of recruits who can't control their tempers.

Not getting 4 points against Army has to be considered a disappointing weekend. At least it wasn't a loss tonight!

True, but 7 points on 4 road games is usually considered fantastic.

If you were sitting where I was during Army's 5-3 power play during the OT and saw the missed opportunities that Army had you probably would of been happy with the tie.

We do need to work on the powerplay, way too predictable. On the other hand 7 out of 8 points on the road. Take that any day. Any night the unexpected could happen. Look at AIC and RoMo last night. I don't get in the pickems but I wonder if anybody had AIC taking one from RoMo.

Unless those 4 games are against AIC and Army, who have all of 1 win between them (and that 1 came this weekend after RIT swept AIC).

Last year Robert Morris went into Army at the same point in the season (games three and four of the league schedule). Robert Morris had just swept Niagara the week before so they were 2-0. On Friday night at Tate they easily knocked off Army 3-0. On Saturday Army battled Robert Morris to a 3-3 tie, with Army battling back to earn the tie. Very similar.

It's tough sweeping on the road even if on paper you are the more talented team. Four AHA series this weekend, all splits except RIT picking up 3 points.

Incidentily RoMo, the week after Army, hosted RIT and swept them. So lets hope RIT has a similar result when they host Bentley (who have also tied Army this year).

Army is always tough at home. Getting 3 points isn't bad - as it is what Bentley did.

Agree with this.

Another enjoyable part of the weekend series was the strong turnout of RIT fans who, as always, were loud and enthusiastic. Here is a quick 30 second clip of the teams heading back onto the ice to begin the third period. The PA announces Army and the speakers start playing the Army intro however it is quickly drowned out by the RIT fans. In fairness to the Army fans, by the end of the game they were yelling and cheering for their own team, no doubt egged on and somewhat tutored by the RIT fans. All in all a great weekend, hopefully, depending on how scheduling works, RIT can find a way to make it back to Tate next season if RIT plays Army four times in the schedule.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

I watched Garbowsky play with the Amerks on Friday night. He looked pretty good out there overall and picked up his first assist of the season. (I probably was a bit too excited, jumping up in excitement over an assist. My section was giving me strange looks, but the fancy Garbowsky Amerks jersey I was wearing should have been enough of an explanation.) Before the assist, he had a great opportunity right in front. I thought he was going to stuff it in the corner, but the goaltender managed to get his pad over in time to make the save. He's not getting a ton of ice time, but he did get an opportunity with the PK unit in the 3rd period. It was nice to see him playing his natural position and taking faceoffs. Last year, they had him playing on the wing. It just didn't feel right watching him there.

I'm hoping he sticks with the Amerks for a while. I think his defensive ability should be good enough to keep him around... And hopefully that natural offensive ability that we saw during his time with the Tigers starts to show after he gets comfortable playing in the AHL.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

Looking at Bentley's team this year (and watching them one game at Army), they have good senior leadership both on offense and on the blue line. I think RIT will need to shut down Bentley's first line if RIT hopes to have any success over the weekend as it looks as if that line is putting up the majority of points for the Falcons. Bentley has similar production numbers as RIT but it is not spread out across the multiple lines. RIT will need their third and fourth lines to play big this weekend. It will also be a chess match in keeping our top D pairing out with their top line, glad we're home for this first go round with the Falcons.

Actually on the battle field I am fine with that kind of play ;-)

I don't think it took much reading between the lines that WITR (Ed and Scott) and coach Wilson didn't think highly of the officiating. I honestly thought the AHA took a baby step forward last year in regards to the men in stripes. They still have issues with guys who seem like they have over inflated egos who don't seem to get it. Tired of hearing about poor example of officiating and then when I check the box scores I see the same names...

Not to get political, but that kind of attitude toward our military has caused a lot more problems lately than it's solved. Our fighting men and women must play by the rules. When they don't, you get stuff like Abu Grahib.

And further degrades any chance of me winning AHA Pick em! :(

Army is going to surprise a few teams this year, especially if Coach Riley can get the right chemistry on the ice, lots of young talent, but, like you, if I was in the AHA Pickem, I would of went with UConn too! ;)
