3rd goal was pretty.
Put it up, lets play.

Maybe ran out of gas at the end, but for 2 periods they stood toe to toe with #1. Can't believe Cameron didn't score on that chance.

RIT was def gassed by end of 2nd. Fun game though. Would have liked 1 goal at least

What a great, solid first 2 periods by RIT. Kinda fizzled out in the 3rd.

Fun game to watch. Q-pac PRESSURES like no team I've seen this year, even on they're penalty kill. It's easy to see why they've only lost 3 games. RIT really had to work hard to get any type of chance. They had their chances, but like so many games this season, nothing went in. Really though, RIT played up to Q-pacs level and was in the game up through 45 minutes.

Yep, they played well until the 3rd and then lost their legs....Quinnipiac pretty much shut down the blue line which meant a lot of going back to the Tigers zone to get the puck back and try again. Overall, I'm happy with the season they had and glad they made it this far. Good experience for this team going forward into next year.

Just wanted to come in here to say I was really impressed with RIT tonight. You guys put forth a fantastic effort, and deserved much better than a 4-0 loss. You outplayed the No. 1 team in the country for at least 30-40 minutes. RIT made it much tougher on Quinnipiac than I think they expected. I'll admit to being scared of this game throughout the week -- I was a Quinnipiac fan back in our Atlantic Hockey days, so I know that AHA is no joke. You have to be a good team to get out of that conference, and you guys are a good team.

I second this post. Great effort by RIT who constantly represent well when they get to the tournament.

Thanks guys. GG to Quinnipiac holding us off tonight. We expect a lot from our tigers, and outside of finishing they gave it to us. Good luck tomorrow.

That RIT team will be back here pretty quickly especially with a freshman first line as sophomores next year. They are a fearless bunch this RIT team.

Great showing by RIT on and off the ice. Nothing to be ashamed of... you gave us fits for 40 minutes and still skated hard in the 3rd. A bounce or two could have changed the game completely.

Just have to say, RIT you surprised the hockey world staying in that game for better than two periods against the #1 team in the country. Well done !

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

Reminded me of the UNO game. The Tigers play so hard for two periods and just can't keep it going for 60 at these speeds. We'd do better in a matchup with a slower, grindier team.

Rotolo played great. It'll be an interesting competition in net next year.

Tigers still can't finish shots, though. How we got 7 through on RoMo is baffling. QU's goalie was solid, but only had to make a couple of tough saves. (That's the big difference from the UNO game; I don't think it was just a hot goalie this time around.)

I thought the Tigers spent too much time looking for open lanes, only to have their passes end up on QU sticks. Needed to shoot more; we had the zone time to do it.

+1 on what everyone else has been saying.

Not only did the RIT team play a great game that was far more deserving of the 4-0 final score. Their fans were awesome!
RIT has a lot to be proud of.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

Next year is shaping up to be a great year.
Rotolo is back and better than ever, freshman this year really impressed (what a find Valenzuela was), Norrish twins are really shaping up to lead the defense, Holy Cross & RoMo losing a lot of seniors, and Canisius just lost their top scorer to the AHL early.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

RIT certainly has to be an early favorite to lead AHC next year, though Air Force, Army, and Mercyhurst are very young teams who were right there with us this season. I think RoMo will definitely fall off after losing that massive class, but there's a number of teams rising that we'll be fighting tooth and nail against.

More and more chatter about Holy Cross to HEA instead of Quinnipiac. That's pretty much a nightmare scenario as far as I'm concerned.

If Holy Cross would move to Hockey East could RIT make a move to Big Ten, just for more exposure sake?

I would assume no. Destler doesn't seem 100% on board with a move to out of Atlantic Hockey based on the D&C article. At least if we move to ECAC we get to rub elbows with some huge players in higher ed..

I wouldn't read too much into that. He can't exactly come out and say we're looking to leave.
