Just spoke to a representative at the Times Union Center, NO re-entry allowed between games on Saturday.

How much time can possibly be btw games.. half hour??

Usually an hour. Time to resurface the ice, prepare for warmups, proceed with warmups, resurface the ice, and then prepare for the game.

"There shall be a minimum of 53 minutes between the end of game one and the face-off of game two."

They need to resurface the ice, and warmups start 38 minutes prior to puck drop.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

All of the ECAC Hockey League teams are very happy playing in their league including Quinnipiac. The QU president loves the league and wants to stay in it. Do not be surprised if the league does not have any teams leave for Hockey East.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

At one time I was a huge advocate for joining the ECAC when I thought RIT would have had to wait another 10 years to join... I now have cold feet about the idea. If RIT has a decent season they will always have a decent chance in being able to make the NCAA's in the AHA due to how pathetic this conference is. I personally like that RIT could regularly make it the big dance. I do not believe the AHA deserves an automatic bid but since RIT is benefiting from this I enjoy seeing them attend every few years, where if they were in the ECAC might not be the case. Maybe I am wrong but I sure love seeing RIT go to the NCAA's!

I would much rather RIT the opportunity to earn a spot via ranking over winning through a single elimination tournament. In the AHA, a two team appearance will probably happen once every 100 seasons. Add on the fact that Wilson seems to use OOC games as ways to test different lines and goal tenders, and I don't see us having a strong PWR in the AHA.

If you take away the Autobid from the AHA, then there's literally no reason to even play. The conference will so rarely generate a top 15 ranked team that the NCAAs would never see an AHA team. I would much rather the conference system go by the way side, so SOS becomes more normalized... but that would never happen.

Based on your post history and your rep it seems like you extrapolate your personal feelings to be far-reaching facts when they probably aren't.

This coming from a QU fan doesn't carry much weight.

This at least you might be able to be coming with some sort of information. The second part is pure conjecture.

Regarding the QU president loving the league, this was backed up by Bill Schweizer, who is the QU Media Coordinator and calls the games for the Bobcats, so on that part I'd agree with antioch1098. I asked Bill the very question about moving to HEA this weekend and he said it will "never" happen under Lahey (the prez).

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

I'm with you here. Back in the D3 days, RIT dominated consistently. It's a major reason we made the move to D1.
Dominant? Their last National Championship was in 1985, 20 years prior to their departure from D-III.
Yes, they were among the best teams in D-III more often than not, but they were hardly dominant.
If on-ice success at D-III was the main criteria for moving up to D-I, Middlebury would have been up here a long long time ago. St. Norbert's, Norwich, and Plattsburgh could also have made legitimate arguments for moving up before RIT did. There are many more factors that go into a move like that. Another example would be Quinnipiac. They were barely competitive on the national D-II / D-III scene before spearheading the founding of the MAAC Hockey Conference at D-I. Now look at them.

Maybe we weren't DIII champs all the time, but I think it's fair to say that RIT dominated it's league from 93-94 to 02-03 in DIII. And 03-04 and 04-05 weren't bad. Then, obviously, 05-06 was our first year at D1 (which was awful - 0.233 win %) but in 06-07 we won the regular season.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

I think the 2004-05 team really should have done better. They were playing very well until the announcement that they were going DI. That seemed to take the wind out of the team's sails.

RIT fans should face it. They are stuck in Atlantic Hockey.

Never count the RIT Tigers out. ;) Denver, New Hampshire and Minnesota State did. I assure you they will never do that again. This program has never ceases to amaze me with their progress.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

By the way, RIT fell just short of being ranked this week. Looks like we'll have to put on a good performance in the tournament (not necessarily involving a win) to make it into the top 20.

I am not disputing those results (although if I were you I would have left 03-04 and 04-05 off of that analysis). I said they were among the best in the nation more often than not and certainly agree that for a time RIT was clearly the best in ECAC West. However, your argument here is not supporting what you said initially. You said that back in the D3 days, RIT dominated consistently. To me, "dominated" means that they were the best team year in and year out. The best in D3 means National Championships, of which they had none for a long long time.

Rankings and a dollar will get you something off the dollar menu.
It's all about winning on the ice.

Agreed. Plus it seems strange to issue a ranking after the 16 NCAA tourney seeds are already filled.

Anyone in the Washington DC area going to the viewing part at Buffalo Billiards? If so, I'll be wearing my Cornacchia rookie jersey (#7, before he switched to #10)

The only rankings that are relevant are the PairWise and RPI which finds RIT in the bottom half of D1 programs at 36. Unless of course you gain a mandated auto bid which leapfrogs you over arguably more qualified teams
