>>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

The Stadium Consultants website has what looks to be the best rendition of the north side exterior of the new arena. It at least looks pretty close to the steel that is actually going up.

Also, looking at the interior rendition, it would appear that the tunnels entering mid-seating are now gone. This looks a lot closer to an expanded Ritter than the earlier versions. Also looks like the broadcast and suites are moved to a second level, rather than being at the railings.

That looks seriously OK ... much nicer than the last set of drawings. RIT really has to get these renderings out if they are accurate.

I'm amazed how little they try to show off the design of the rink. It would be a great way to generate donations for it if they could actually get people excited by the design. Kind of like Kickstarter, you need to sell the idea by explaining it to your customers. The new rink has had a lackluster sales pitch so far.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

I believe the reason that RIT has pulled back on waving the design around is that they pushed early, out of budget drawings in peoples faces at the beginning of the campaign. Once more realistic intermediate renderings were made available, the rink seemed a bit underwhelming and left a bad taste in investors mouths. Hopefully once there is a more 'set' final design, they'll start running with it again.

Ummmmmmm is it just me or did they get rid of the orange bench seating for the Corner Crew??

Hello Tigers Fans - My wife and I are hoping to get tickets for the RIT/Michigan game when they go on sale to the general public on Monday. Does anyone know what section the visitors bench is in at Blue Cross Arena? Thanks for your help.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Aren't they open to the public via RITs website already? I suppose you mean through either Blue Cross Arena or Michigan though. Judging by past teams and tournaments, I'd guess sections 104-106 are where visitors will usually sit. Though since last year was GA penn state fans got strewn about the crowd. I'd say maybe check a Mich thread to make sure.

Thanks for the info. Michigan Ticket Office is no longer handling tickets for away games. Says it is some kind of Big Ten policy. (Thanks, B1G) RIT site will start sales on Monday. Can't find any sales listed on the BCA site. Hopefully, I'll get tix on Monday. Should be a great game.

Looks that way to me, too. I was assuming (hoping?) that the seat render was just generic, but I think we have discussed here before that there is some resistance to the bleachers for the corner crew since it would make the place less attractive for selling seats to high-end concerts and other events that might be held there. I never heard how that turned out, but my assumption had been that it would end up with bleachers in a corner.

My guess, and I am in no way condoning or condeming it, is that RIT simply does not care enough about people with very young children to make the necessary adjustments to the ticket purchasing system. Again, this is just a guess, but in reality how many people does this affect? If I am reading this correctly, it only effects season ticket holders who have a child under 5 and want to take said child to the BCA and/or Frontier game. I doubt that is a high number of people and I would think it is a very small percentage of the season ticket holders. While I certainly understand the complaints and I would probably feel the same way, I can understand from an effort/economic standpoint why it was ignored or overlooked. Heck, maybe it was a scheme to get people with young children to buy them a season ticket for Ritter too? Stranger decision have been made at RIT.

Well considering RIT continues to market the hockey games as family friendly events, I would think maybe they should take the time to make the ticket buying process family friendly as well. I certainly hope they consider families with children of all ages when they set up the ticket structures for the new rink.

123 is right behind the Amerks' visitor bench. Although it is technically listed as a neutral site game, I would assume RIT will once again utilize the Amerks' home bench (in front of 124)

Last I had heard they were still planning on the bleachers. This is a fairly rough 3D rendering (notice how the seats overlap in the corner too) and the seating was largely thrown in there for the effect.

It has been a very contentious issue but one that I believe the benches have won.

Considering they're putting the steel up I certainly hope the design is set. I do note that the horizontal overhang visible in the exterior rendering appears to exist in steelframe form as we speak.

As is the vertical "tower" with the name on it (in the rendering). It seems the renderings at SCI are accurate in the overall sense. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the details of the inside (specific seats, seat layout, CC bleachers, etc.) are still being worked on. The letter to seat donors said the specifics would be out in Oct. (I think).

The slight upslope of the roof at the base of the tower with the name on it is also there-- a detail that isn't all that important, it is more of an cosmetic choice.. I am pretty sure the SCI rendering IS the plan now. Wish we can get our grubby hands on the exterior plans now. I am curious how theyre gonna direct people into the entrance now that it seems the entrance is onto the academic side. Feels a little awkward with the parking either behind or way to the west. Unless theyre making people walk from the D lot in the middle of the winter and/or with shuttle service?

With 4,500 seats, I'm hoping they have two entrances. =)

BCA 10,000 seats, 1 entrance
Gordon Field House 6,000 Seats 1 entrance
My guess is there will be 1 entrance.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Ritter has two exits with less than 2.2k in attendance...
Exits ≠ Entrances
BCA has 3+ exits.
GFH also has up to 3 exits
Ritter could even be considered to have 3 exits.
Although I guess it could all depend on how one defines a separate exit. RIT's buildings in question being connected to other buildings makes that more difficult to define.

Why can't I see these renderings?
