I don't know how significant this may or may not be, or if any of you were aware, but Ruby got engaged at the end of August. I can't help but wonder how much effect that has on his off-ice activities and mindset...

Woa. Things most young athletes don't do for $2000, Alex.

Exactly. Especially RIGHT before the beginning of a season where you're #1 D-I goalie.

Getting married... I can see why he hasn't been an All-Star. Making bad decisions like that off the ice... Lord knows the decisions he will make on the ice! lol Marriage!!!!!!!!!! What a silly guy ;)

I sit directly behind the RIT bench for home games. I noticed right away Rotolo interacted with the bench much different during stoppages and tv time outs during his first start. He is talking to people and trying to rally the guys on the bench.

Having played hockey goalies are generally kind of weird anyways but I always appreciated a goalie was more laid back and talkative.

Rotolo = swagger.

Two Tigers got AHA awards this week, Colevecchia and Rotolo.

My favorite part..

Rotolo went 2-0-0 on the weekend with a 1.00 goals against average and .970 save percentage, stopping 64-of-66 shots in a weekend sweep over Sacred Heart.*

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Ruby got engaged at the end of August.

I wonder what gems he got for her ring.

Wow. Are you kidding? To even imply that him getting engaged would have any effect on his game is just ridiculous. I can't even believe you brought it up.

So what if it's not the norm? Congratulations to Ruby. When you know, you know.

What does one have to do with the other? You're really reaching here. What's next? I can't believe he's taking that course this semester? Right in the middle of the season. What was he thinking?

While not having been engaged (yet), I have a feeling that it adds considerable stress to your life. Now, not being a college athlete, I remember being stressed out from school on occasion. So I feel like mixing those two with being a starting goal tender in a defensively struggling program is just a cluster of excessive stress all together. Not to mention how much of a mental game goal tending is... it just seems like a lot.

Planning a wedding might. Simply being engaged, not so much.

Anyone know how many tickets have been sold for the outdoor game? If RIT isn't advertising this game that is a crying shame.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

The last RIT goalie to win his first 3 starts is <drum roll please> Jamie Morris

Makes me wonder how many people who read this said, "Who's That?"

I am really not sold at all on Rotolo, but Wilson gamble payed off this weekend so now you ride him till he fails. Which leaves me very uneasy for this weekend. RIT needs another 4 points once again the West is way stronger than the Eastern Pod. You need all these points. I do echo the demeanor comments on Rotolo and it is nice to see. Wonder if Ruby did get a little shell shocked from the horrible defensive play last year. Don't think him getting engaged would have much effect, even though I have seen some girls ruin a guy's game, normally at the engaged point she has already done all the damage to his game that she is going to do... ;-)

Just watching the YouTube Highlights from the weekend impressed at how business like the team looked. The Goaltending for Sacred Heart was about as impressive as the arena they play in...

Better question: will the out door game be on TWSC?

Yes, The Sportszone schedule says they will be live broadcasting starting at 7pm.

I'll bite, since I know nothing about RIT pre 2006. To my defense, an RIT game my freshman year was the first time I had ever seen hockey played in person. I had a lot of learning to do over the last 7 years.

The school just started putting up posters around campus for the game. I don't think student turn out as good though since finals start the day before the games. So unless the school has put a lot of effort trying to promote the game to the Rochester community I would expect a couple hundred seats left for the men's game.

Games around break are a hard sell out for sure. I use to hate that the last games at Ritter for the season fell on finals week of Winter quarter, no one would show up despite it being some seniors last chance at playing for their fans at home.

I don't know, we've sold out the Black Friday games pretty regularly in the last few years. Less students come, but more members of the community show up instead knowing they will be able to sit down. I would imagine the novelty of the outdoor game in and of itself will drive ticket sales among fans in the community, and students will still be on campus...I doubt most of them will skip a 3 hour hockey games on a Friday night to study for finals the next week.

Kind of late in the game don't you think?
