Heh then why toss it out there that you have some tasty tidbit that you can't share? ;) I haven't heard any rumors so I guess people are even better than you at keeping it close to the vest

I would not call them tasty and I was just saying I have reason to believe some of the team's struggles are internal. I think your the only one that this is news too. Look I am not trying to show off, there are people on this board who have a lot more inside information on the team than I do. Just a piece of advice, please don't ask questions like can you be more specific. Again there are some on this board who know twice if not more of the amount of inside info that they I do. If any of them could be more specific they would be.

One thing I have to remind myself at times, we are dealing with non-paid college kids. I certainly could find more fault with myself at that age than what we can even with this crop of players...

Sorry I did not mean to preach...

If the Tigers win out, I'll eat my RIT Hockey hat.

They really just have to win the tournament - not that THAT is an easy proposition.

I will be happy if they just win another game this season.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

Um, yeah, that was a disheartening loss. I thought RIT played decent hockey for long stretches, but just plain stupid mental mistakes cost them the game. It's either ill advised penalties or missed defensive assignments. I hope to god Wilson has recruited some solid D-men and some mentally strong players for next season. Otherwise.....ugh.

I cannot wait for this season to end.

thanks for the scolding

Tired of this. Yeah lets play Ruby. No, he sucks. Injuries, our guys actually give a great effort but something is missing. Time for some change. We cant capitalize on most opportunities, injuries, and our opponents seem to beat us on any giveaway. truth is we arent going to be good for years to come now.

Screw it McLean for rest of season. Why not. Fire Wayne Wilson.

Rotolo isn't perfect yet, but the team CLEARLY plays more inspired hockey in front of him. Whenever Ruby starts it just seems like they don't even care about getting him the win. We need to stop giving Ruby chances, he's not making the most of them. Let Rotolo continue to get experience, or, what the hell...play MacLean.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

The team put forth the effort tonight with Ruby in net. They had a ton of shots but like Coach said in the post game they just don't bury the puck when they need to. Sounds like he was a little frustrated the team just wasn't executing some of the details of the game plan.

I felt a little bad for MacLean giving up that 2 on 1 goal when he had only see a couple shots and has had so little playing time

Ruby? ***? Is Rotolo hurt? Otherwise Wilson is a fool when it comes to this aspect of coaching this season.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

I was surprised with Ruby starting. I'm sure Coach is doing what he can. I would suspect that Rotolo was not well last night. The guys played their hearts out - but had bad execution. This team sorely misses Garbowsky. And now with Colaveccia being hurt, there were scoring options 1 and 2 from the start of the season. That's a big reason why the scoring is not what we would like.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

Coach did say he would keep alternating, just depended on who had the hot hand. Rotolo didn't have a good enough game on Friday apparently to stay in the net

I have zero doubt that Wilson is doing what he thinks is best. What do you mean by "not well"? Sick?

Ugh. It seems like every time Ruby gets his chance this season then he squanders it.

Effort was certainly there this weekend. And guys are getting looks; they just can't put the puck where the goalie isn't. Been that way all year.

Let's be honest here, neither goalie has had a stellar season with the defenses that have been put in front of them.

Both games ended up with the Tigers giving up 5+ goals so does it really matter who they put in net?

For this season, it probably means pretty much nothing. I am more concerned about next season and the season after that. I think that Rotolo has potential and playing him and giving him experience that will either benefit the program in the future by either developing into a quality starter or forcing Wilson to bring in a new tender in another year.

I know a lot of people where I work have been sick lately, so it is possible that Rotolo caught a bug. I don't know anything definite as to why. That's just me speculating why Rotolo didn't play. Coach Wilson is doing everything he can with what he has.

It's important that you said this season. Down the stretch last year, he was good. He also nearly singlehandedly kept RIT in the series against Niagara in the AHA tournament with a 3-2 loss and a 2-1 overtime loss. In 4 AHA playoff games, Ruby allowed 7 goals.

The TV guys and Brian Hills both made it pretty clear last night that Rotolo was benched. He wasn't sick, he was benched.

At this point we're so injured and so mentally broken, the team is just not playing good hockey and it's going to be tough for any goalie to put in a string of good starts. Wilson seems to understand this, but doesn't like soft goals. He spoke a lot on the radio Friday night about needing "the goalie" to make the big save and that they didn't get that. Reading between the lines, it's pretty clear he did not like Rotolo's performance Friday and he's had a quick trigger with his goalies all season.
