It is what it is but it's still hockey and as the sun starts to stay up a little longer and the temps start to climb, we've got to enjoy the game that's played and hold out hope (just like the Bill's fans) that something good can come out of all this.

A high draft pick?

I think they need to win four of their next six to assure a home playoff game, and I don't see that happening. A bye is out of the question at this point.

Agreed, and I think 6 points in their last 12 would be a surprise and for those of you in Colorado and Washington Chris is talking about 8 points...

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

The way I see things shaking out with six games left is RIT traveling in the first round to either Holy Cross, AIC. Niagara or Canisius. I think they need to win four of their next six to assure a home playoff game, and I don't see that happening. A bye is out of the question at this point.

In the 10 year history of the AHA, only twice did a road team win a playoff series. It was Canisius both times - several years ago at Mercyhrust and last year at Air Force.

If we travel to AIC, I'll be pretty happy. After all 25% of our wins this season came at the hands of the Yellow Jackets, and we beat them pretty handily. Holy Cross is iffy, Niagara and Canisius would be a bad time.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

The team is iffy enough, but add the injuries and it's a pure disaster at this point...
Exactly... and that is because the Goaltending is one area that has not been infected by the injury bug. Although we can see potential in Rotolo after performances like he had on Friday, games like Saturday and a few of the January road games he had show us he's still a freshman and he hasn't fixed the Tigers' biggest weakness just yet.

This just sucks. Here's to 2015-16 when Skirving, Rotolo, Schuler, Kuqali, Cameron, Peron-Fontaine, Mitchell, Miller, etc. are leading the way. Let's hope they learn from what's gone wrong the past two+ seasons.

I am not really sure there much to learn a lot of it has been bad luck. Injuries in particular have been particularly bad last 3 seasons. And looking at the Senior class I can't find to many bad eggs. Mike Colavecchia I still like a lot, he does make the occasional bad give away, but I think the points he puts up are far more than the ones he gives away. Ben Lynch, even though I thoght he has struggled the games I've seen in the second half is a player I never question the effort from. I think he benefited by being on the top line with two prolific scores his freshman years and thus some expectations grew that may have been outside of his potential. When Adam Mitchell been healthy he been good and scored some big goals for RIT.

The real disappointment has been on the Defensive end. Eliot Raibl is the kind of player who I kind of expect just to limit the mistakes and play solid and I think he has done a fairly good job. Players I've really was hoping for more from are Nolan Descoteaux & Greg Noyes. They have great offensive potential, but very sloppy on the defensive end. I really don't want to put a grade out on their decision making. To me that where the breakdown has been on the defensive end. Yes the goaltenders have been inconsistent and shoulder a good amount of blame but I think the root is in the defensive core. If you look at Wayne Wilson's teams over the years the ones that have struggle have been weakest at Defense. The Defense is so involve in Wayne's system that it's a big problem when they are weak. Their is so much pinching and jumping up in the play, when it's done right the system is very tough to beat, but if his player make bad decisions it can snow ball against them.

Bottom line.... As frustrated as I can get it is hard to really point to something the coaches missed. As I have said before on here sometimes you bring a highly talented kid in with all the potential in the world and he just doesn't work out. Broken Record, but Ruby was on the NHL Central Scouting list for North American Goaltenders, Hamburg an NHL draft pick. Not to pick on those two, but I think we all agree that we had hope they have more success than they had at RIT. There only thing that really concerns me is I've heard some rumors that have troubled me about stuff that related to "the room" as we say in Hockey. Maybe the coaches can learn something there, but to me that's always been more theology than science. Either way I still give Coach Wilson and his staff a vote of confidence...

While I actually enjoy the trips to Worcester, the Tigers are 0-2-2 against Holy Cross the last two seasons. That sound a bit less than iffy to me, unfortunately.

Did I use a technical term when I said "iffy"? Honestly I thought it was the brand of peanut butter my wife loves so much...

Scott I am just curious, what bottles of wine have you been indulging yourself with this week?

Sure...

Descoteaux's Sister thinks your hot! :p

Sorry but that as far out there as I go and frankly farther than normal. However there already been much speculation and other conspiracy theories floated about what goes on in "the room". So I don't think this is really news to anyone. As to what rumors I've heard, even if I knew they were true I probably would not post it on here...

Tom,

The questions isn't "what" as much as "how many";)

I agree any rumors should be kept to yourself.

I'll call your wine and raise you some moonshine. :)

I only do Moonshine if Brian Arms grandfather made it in his northern Ontario home and the Bournazakis brothers are around for shots. Gosh that was one heck of a hang over, but what a night...

You know it's been so long I had to look up how to spell Bournazakis. I had it right, but you know how I trust my spellin' :D

Heh then why toss it out there that you have some tasty tidbit that you can't share? ;) I haven't heard any rumors so I guess people are even better than you at keeping it close to the vest

"If" the Tigers win out, then they would be making another trip to Worchester according to the latest 'bracketology'.....here's hoping!

I think your hat is safe this year and I get to avoid eating at the Auburn Town Pizza.
