Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

Looking ahead to this weekend, hopefully Colevecchia is given the green light to play. Although our offense is already our strongest element, having another bonefide scorer cannot hurt this teams chances or confidence.

Hopefully AIC plays well enough to challenge our defense and give them a chance to gain some chemistry. Obviously they simply need more time to adjust to things and to get themselves situated. AIC isn't exactly a huge scoring threat, so hopefully (assuming Watson/Ruby) our goalies can gain some confidence with good games.

If we lose one of these games, I sense many more panic buttons will be hit.

My finger hasn't left the panic button.

Not a bad thought but what I think our defense needs more than anything is confidence from playing a good game. Also they need to not be beat up, hopefully playing a small size AIC team will get them in the hitting mood...

I agree the the defensemen need as much of a boost in confidence than the goalies. I do think Ruby could REALLY use a good game right about now. Watson could win the #1 job by having less worse stats.

RIT also cannot go into AIC and think it's an automatic 4 point weekend. They have felt the sting of the Jackets a couple times in the last few years even though the Tigers have been the more talented team.

The one game they lost 2 years ago in particular was due to some subpar goaltending and defense...............

Okay, hope everybody made it through Sandy okay.

Seems like the offense can score goals so the real question is, what will it take for the team to win games?

Penalty kills (and taking penalties) are on the top of my list, anything else?

Until the Colgate game, I thought we were doing pretty good on not taking dumb penalties. Not sure what changed there.

Obviously the defense has to improve.

Crapy officiating is what happened.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

RIT is going to have to play with more passion and determination. They have to play better D. And the goalies have to play better. I just hope the defense's confidence isn't battered too much. The downside of playing high quality competition early is that you could have that broken and it could be hard to recover.

The good news is that AIC has been historically offensively challenged so that could help get some of that confidence and swagger back.

Lerch said that AIC has been unsweepable by RIT. Funny how that could be when AIC has only won 3 games against the Tigers since they moved up to DI.

Not saying that a spilt won't happen, but I find that comment a little interesting.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

Is there a 2012-13 media guide anywhere? I can't find one.

We won our one game (in their barn) in our transition year. The next year we swept them at Ritter and at Springfield. The next year we split at Ritter and split at Springfield. The next year we swept at Ritter. The next year we swept at Springfield. The next we we split at Springfield and swept them in the tournament games at Ritter. Last year we swept them at Ritter.

The odd thing is I had the same impression as Lerch did. Maybe the difference is home versus road. At Ritter, we're 9-1; in Springfield we're 7-2. Or look at recent results: in the last five years we're 7-1 at home and only 4-2 in Springfield.

I used www.collegehockeynews.com and used the "Compare" link in the schedule. There is a link for recent results - which goes back 10 years I believe.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

Do your research media guys… :D

I think what Chris is more feeling is AIC has been a nice little trap for the Tigers last few years and there have been definite cases of let downs, more so at their place. I don’t think I see that happening this year. It reminds me of a weekend few years ago against UCONN. RIT was off to a similar start they are this year. Dan Ringwald called it a most sweep and followed it up with a natural hat trick. I think either Eckenswiller or Haltigin also had a hat trick that weekend.

To me it is a test of leadership this weekend. All hands need to be on deck this weekend for the Tigers. The Western Pod is going to be a killer again this year and they already dropped a home game in that Pod. These Eastern Pod games I think are going to be the difference on who takes care of business and who gets it done. After RIT swept UCONN on that fore mention weekend they went on to another good regular season tear. Looking for the same spring board this weekend otherwise I think we might be looking at the fall off year the rest of the league is dreaming about RIT having.

Any word on Cole?

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

AIC has probably their best team in recent memory this year. However, they are still weak defensively and, luckily for us, our biggest strength right now is our offense. The final score will likely be very different from what we're accustomed to against AIC (I'm thinking 6-4, 5-3, something like that), but I can't pick against us with any confidence.

Colevecchia is back in the lineup tonight. Ruby is in net (confidence booster?).

RIT leads early on Reid's first goal as a Tiger.

Ruby is in net because it's his turn. Watson will likely be in between the pipes tomorrow.

There was lots of hope/conjecture that Maclean would start in his place.

Also, RIT just can't buy a win this year. I'm officially pounding the alarm.
