>>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' Part 2 - The Playoffs

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' Part 2 - The Playoffs

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' Part 2 - The Playoffs

Has anyone heard about tickets for the playoffs? I would think we should have heard something about the 2 out of 3 weekend by now.

Nothing has been said. I think they will probably wait until Monday to get the regular season out of the way first. They will still have almost 2 weeks to sell tickets.

Typically Season Ticket holders have two days in advance to everyone else to buy their tickets and then the rest of the general public orders. A date should be announced soon on the RIT site and then you can call the ticket office or place your order on ticketmaster...

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' Part 2 - The Playoffs

Hudson is a great offensive minded defensemen. Who has stayed out of trouble since the incident at RIT which cost him and Ricky Walton many games. The only real negative thing I have to say about Hudson is that he makes me look like a english magorr....

(For those of you at West Point and RPI, That Grammer and Spelling error at the end is done on purpose...)

He's also 2nd on his team in PIMs, with 101 on the year. It takes Al Mazur and Talyor McRenyolds COMBINED to reach 101 PIMs for RIT.

How long do you think it will take Hudson and McReynolds to get acquainted. The over under is on 2 minutes. :D

I don't think it will take long, as long as McReynolds doesn't play as timid as he did last weekend. He looked afraid to make hits against AF (probably why he was benched in the Saturday game)... Hopefully he'll get back to throwing hits again this weekend :D

Denver right now is the #1 seed and I expect that RIT would be playing them.

According to the Bracketology column, Miami is #1; I was going on that. But you're right that Denver appears to be #1 in the PWR according to USCHO.

talking about goalies... why has madolora become the second string goalie to the expense of ropponen? is it only a question of size? I don't remember ropponen being bad in net the one game he played, slightly scary because it was the first time I saw him, but that's expected with a new goalie. any thoughts anyone?

To be honest I would stick with the line up we had Saturday night.

I was trying to imply nicely that he is not what I would deem a smart hockey player....

SOME CORRECTIONS:

First my own, I thought Canisius had the tie breaker over Air Force via conference win, but found out that point head to head is a higher tie breaker which Air Force holds. So Canisius needs more points than Air Force to get home ice, that tie last weekend to AIC could be a killer.

There is a miss print in Bracketology listing the seeds, Denver is #1 and Jason did do his Brackets assuming Denver was #1 he just miss printed when he listed the teams

NOW TO ADDRESS GOALTENDING:

I think its clear that Wilson has more faith in Madolora than Ropponen. ropponen had a chance against the US Under 18 team, now granted that he did not have the best Tiger line up in front of him, but he did not impress. All most ever game I have seen him in there has been a soft goal which at this level is a killer. Madolora has been solid in each of his starts...That being said if this 6 plus footer coming in next year to play goal for RIT is on his game he could be the first 4 year starter in nets for RIT since Euverman (1999-2003).

No, he didn't; he had RIT facing Miami until he switched ND into Miami's bracket to avoid an inter-conference matchup. That forced RIT down into Denver's #2 bracket.

Just a minor thing - Air Force DOES have the tie breaker over Canisius, but it is not in points head to head. They split their two meetings this year, so it goes to the second tie breaker, goal differential head to head. AF won 4-1 while Canisius only won 3-1, giving AF a goal differential of +3, while Canisius only has +2

Since we are having a arguing semantics morning, See Step 3

Step Three
Place the No. 1 seeds in regionals. Following the guidelines, there are no host teams in this grouping, so that rule does not need to be enforced.

We now place the other No. 1 seeds based on proximity to the regional sites.

<b>No. 1 Denver</b> is placed in the West Regional in St. Paul, Minn.
No. 2 Miami is placed in the Midwest Regional in Fort Wayne, Ind.
No. 3 Wisconsin is placed in the East Regional in Albany, N.Y.
No. 4 St. Cloud State is placed in the Northeast Regional in Worcester, Mass

He miss printed it twice, but did place Denver as the #1 overal seed if you read and understand the entire thing.

mar7967 thanks for correcting me, I meant to say goals against and instead said points, that I did miss speak on...

Well darn it. I'm wondering now if he changed it since it was originally posted, because I clearly remember him writing about switching some team into Miami's bracket to avoid WCHA matchups in the first round. Now there's none of that.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' Part 2 - The Playoffs

RIT rolls tonight, 8 - 0 against Canisius. Way to silence the mouthy Canisius fans behind their bench. Canisius racks up 27 PIMs, including a 2 min roughing and 10 min game misconduct from their leader and captain Peter MacDougall. They took RIT's Murphy out of the game with more dirty play.

Favorite stat of the night from the post game show on WITR - Carl Hudson now minus 11 against RIT. He was minus 4 on the night.

Hopefully Canisius can mature a bit in the next 20 hours and play hockey tomorrow instead of head hunting, but that would be out of character and seems unlikely.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' Part 2 - The Playoffs

Canisius had something to play for and that's the effort they show? That is seriously pathetic. I hope they enjoy the flight to Colorado Springs or the drive to Erie in 2 weeks. Great job by the Tigers though on keeping the foot down on the gas. This team seems to be peaking at the right time.

I totally agree! Was Canisius that bad? Or is RIT becoming that good? Last Saturday, our defense totally dominated. This week it was our forwards who kept the puck in their zone all night long. Nothing wrong with our defense, either.
