I'm about to depart to Detroit - everyone on my flight is rooting for RIT tomorrow. These fans are primarily Hockey East but do cross all conferences

If this small sample holds true, we could have a sizeable advantage in the cheering section.

Great stuff. Re: Random heckling... Stick boy was the best at this. THE. BEST.

We never really had anybody step up when he left. Instead we had some kid in a cowboy hat confuse profanity for being clever.

So, I've been in the RenCen for less than a half hour and I've already encountered my first set of annoying overly intoxocated Badger fans that are invading my wife's personsal space.

Not much respect for RIT from this crowd, or "the Rochester school" as they are calling us.

Mark Cornacchia was award the NCAA Elite 88 award for men's hockey. He gets the award for having the highest GPA of any competitor in the Frozen Four. He has a 3.85 GPA in Finance.

I had the opposite experience at the airport. They were admittedly worried about RIT's winning streak. They were some nice people.

As a Sioux fan, I know all too well the majority of the BADger fans' arrogance and stupidity. Please beat them.



And of course most people will be cheering for RIT. Everyone hates the BADgers and BC, and Miami's been a powerhouse the last few years. Everyone loves a Cinderella story. :)

I am just so overwhelmingly excited. I'm going to be working extra hard today to help the day pass. Worked over the last 3 days so I can leave early and grab a seat at the bar. Time to put eye of the tiger on repeat! :D

Speaking about new cheers... the corner crew needs to figure out when the opposing pep band plays Eye of Tiger and take it over.... A few chances were available for a "TIGERS" ala "red"/"knights"/whatever in the anthem.

Wish I was heading to DetRoIT for the games, but life does tend to get in the way of what we'd all like to do. But that's OK, I got to listen to the 1983 DII championship on WITR with my then 3yr old son and 10 month old daughter. It was a great hearing the Tigers beat Lowell then Bemidji become national champions. In 1985 I was lucky enough to be in Achilles Rink in Schenectady with my wife and some friends from Rochester, while Great Grandma watched the kids. The game against Union was the best hockey game I've ever seen live. Just incredible tension and a win against the Tigers biggest rival made for great drama. The final against Bemidji the next night was absolutely relaxing in comparison. The Tigers were DIII champions, and I got to see it first hand.

At 5:00 tonight I'll be sitting in the living room with ESPN2 on the TV and the WITR guys streaming on the laptop. The kids are grown and gone, one in southern Illinois and the other in North Carolina. The wife should be home from work by 6:00, so she should get to see the end of the game. I'm so distracted that I decided that it would be better to stay home rather than try to work. Anything that might be accompished today I'd probably have to rework next week anyway. :) :)

My brain is taking the same approach to these games as the regional in Albany, "I just hope that the Tigers don't get embarassed". My heart on the other hand is trying to figure out if it is going to be Miami or BC who are going to be the stand-in for Bemidji. :D :D :D

To all the RIT fans out there, Enjoy the experience. It will be one for the ages. LET'S GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!

Also, an advanced apology to the rest of Atlantic Hockey, We are going to soooooo insufferable next season.:) :) :)
