The NCAA sells them.

Where? On their website? I looked and I only saw photos.

The 1985 Division III national championship team is up for induction into the Frontier Field Walk of Fame this year.

Please vote! http://sim1.net/opt/survey.asp?s=SXRbFcW8

RIT is under the "Team of the Ages" category. The 1983 team was already inducted a couple of years ago.

Really like this quote from Janda's blog this week,

"Everyone has contributed this season and played for the logo on the front, instead of the name on the back."

Really shows how they've all worked as a team :)

So, if anyone wants an example of NE arrogance / no respect, here it is.

A self-proclaimed hockey guy sitting next to me at the bar tells us the 'RI' in RIT stood for Rhode Island. Boy was he I'm for a surprise when I spoke up...

Are you sure it doesn't stand for Rensselaer?

No, no the "R" in RPI stands for Rochester.

(Seriously, I know several faculty at RPI and they get sick of being confused with RIT due to the R=Rochester thing. Always amused me.)

ROCHESTER ARE YOU READY?!?!?!

RIT's success brings talk of new ice arena

Given the success of the RIT men's hockey program, is now the time to press the issue of building a new on-campus arena?

^The article is not very informitive but it brings much hope to the Rochester community for RIT HOCKEY.

hmmm I actually never imagined this to happen this year. The Rochester-Western New York media and even national media has run with the RIT HOCKEY story!

Here is why I think RIT schould play the BCA all next year... RIT is huge right now, playing in the RITTER will kill the spark. 2100 fans... thousands of fans will be turned away which would be a momentum killer. In the BCA we do not have to worry. We just have to ensure that RIT students have a shuttle while they are building a new Arena on the RIT campus!

We have a bit of a problem at the ritter. Its going to be impossible to get tickets next year... RIT needs to be able to welcome every fan! We need to run with this sucess!

Any thoughts on the size of this

"I've seen the demand now, and our current space has out-stripped what we can provide for our fans," Spiotti said. "We have some inadequate spots in our arena, not only from a capacity standpoint but from all the services areas; restrooms, parking, locker rooms, all the support areas you need to run a first-class operation."

If it was not for the economy, this would pretty much be done by now..I was planning on suggesting to RIT that we have the RIT students design how they want the arena to be created.. we have a top of the line design school, so let's use it.. we could have a 1st rated LEED certified hockey arena..I suggest somewhere around 3 to 5,000 seats as it would not be too big but not too small, maybe designed with expansion in mind if the need should arise..if you have not, take a look at Bemidji State's new arena photos... that is something we could do. I also suggest 2nd level corporate/party suites to add new revenue. Keep in mind, we will get a ton of money from the ncaa ($500,000 I think it is) for making it this far in the tournament, possibly more if we win. I would like to see that money pushed aside and applied to the new arena. I also suggest it be either located between the fieldhouse/baseball field so it can be convenient for students to attend or for improved parking, have it next to the practice fields by G lot. While the arena is built, just keep games at the ritter for 1 more year or select games at BCA.

I like your thoughts! I especially like the idea that students design the arena. I would like to steer away from a second upperdeck just because it makes the arena not so fan friendly but have massive student/corner crew section.

I would like the arena to be divided in two sections like the BCA but massive standing room for fans inbetween to make the arena feel small! I would like 5,000 seats.

perhaps a school petition would entice the admin to look into this further..especially from a financial perspective to ensure we have resources.

I thought RPI stood for Rensselaer Penile Institute:rolleyes:

Fixed that for you. If there's one college that has more dudes than RIT, it's RPI.
