>>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' Part 2 - The Playoffs

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' Part 2 - The Playoffs

Just voted on the NHL.com poll asking "Who will win this year's Frozen Four?". I voted for RIT, and I love how the results currently stand at:

Boston College - 30.23%
RIT - 25.42%
Wisconsin - 24.58%
Miami - 19.77%

RIT is more favored to win that the #1 team in the nation? :p
(Yes, I know these polls are as far from scientific as possible.)

You should have seen us in real form when Simon Lambert was in competition for the Hobey. Oh the joys of being from a tech-savvy school where someone can write a program so efficient that they reset the voting at least once.

And then we set up groups for people to types the captchas in and vote all night...

unfortunately they probably tossed about a bunch of our legit votes too though. gosh, i miss lambert. i was honestly upset at first that a freshman had taken his number. turns out burt isn't too bad himself, so it's all good.

well they reset the voting for all the nominees, so it was a fair restart.

This year, they will be selling walk-up tickets. That hasn't happened to my knowledge since Cincinnati in 1996.

I remember a ton of empty seats in Anaheim in '99. Were those available to walk-ups, or were they sold and just not used?... Not that they had a snowball's chance in h*** of getting any walk-ups in Southern California... but wait, it was almost cold enough to make a snowball in Anaheim that week, and that's pretty close to that cess-pool (or h***) called Hollywood.

Everyone should check out Sports Illustrated (the April 5, 2010 edition) page 28.

There's a Frozen Four Stars On Ice section, and our very own Jared DeMichiel has a little blurb.

Mine just came in the mail today, so I'm not sure if it's officially out to those who don't get it in the mail.

Congrats DeMoney!!!

"Fist pumpin' like a champ...."

Ok, this maybe admitting I am getting older, but where did Jared get that from?????

They were walk-ups. I drove over from Vegas, walked right up to the window, and had choice seats. :D

Now that was a venue with no buzz. Unless you were within about 50 feet of the arena, there was pretty much no clue the Frozen Four was going on there.

My fear is the same thing will happen in Tampa in 2012.

Yeah, that's right. In Anaheim I think they wound up having tickets left because so many got returned by the schools and the Ducks season ticket holders.

The Frozen Four is now only a week away! I'm so psyched! :D

Does anyone find it patronizing to have the Tigers success in the NCAA tournament referred to as a cinderella story? Would the same be said about Yale if they made it to the Frozen Four?

Wisconsin may have 15 NHL draft picks, and RIT, zero. Wisconsin may spend 4-6 times more money per player than RIT. Regardless of what the big schools are saying, I think the tigers have a great shot at winning. There are no hard and fast rules to determine who succeeds and who doesn't. Money and resources help a team significantly but they don't guarantee wins.

It's time for the Tigers to make those other highly paid hockey coaches sweat! Go Tigers!

I guess it all depends on how you choose to look at it. As I remember the story of Cinderella she worked harder than anyone else, got crapped on by everyone else, and in the end got what she deserved/earned. I guess my biggest problem is Cinderella never grew a beard.

Just got my annoyingly oversized ticket in the mail today. I'll be watching the action from Riser 36, which is the closest riser to the RIT section. Looking forward to Detroit and a RIT victory!
