Although I never was about to start a "Fire Coach..." thread or anything like that, I will admit I had my doubts at one time (as I once posted on here).
Well, here's to me eating crow... Forgive me for ever doubting, please! The job Coach Wilson did down the stretch and in this year's post-season was the best I've seen in 25 years of RIT hockey (yes, including Buddy Powers' year).
CONGRATS COACH WILSON!
I HOPE YOU STAY AT RITTER FOR THE REST OF YOUR CAREER!
RIT: PAY THE MAN WHATEVER YOU NEED TO KEEP HIM FROM LEAVING!

Wanye is one of the classiest guys I have every met, back when I was a student if there anything I needed for the corner crew or any other request he always invited me in his office for what ever I needed.

What he has accomplished at the D-I level is remarkable and I hope him and the rest of thier staff realize what an amazing job they have done. This reward could not have gone to a more deserving winner.

Thanks Coach!!!

Congrats to Coach Wilson. What a huge honor, not only for him, but for RIT and the conference.

Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

Sent a note to Coach Wilson to congratulate him and in the response he tells me he is accepting on behalf of "our administration, support staff, my players and most importantly my assitant coaches who do all the work."

Classy to the end, hey may even be a CEO that Lerchie likes :D :D :D

Sorry Lerchie, I couldn't resist that political shot, you have one free one, but like I have to invite you to take it ;)

Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

So I know its a little early but I figured we might as well start compiling the schedule. We probably won't get many other games for a while, but what the heck...I'm bored

2010-2011 RIT Men's Hockey Schedule

10/8 at UNO Tournament (1)
10/9 at UNO Tournament (1)
10/15 Merrimack/UMass Lowell (2)
10/16 Merrimack/UMass Lowell (2)
at Union
at RPI
at Cornell

(1) UNO Tournament (Clarkson, Nebraska-Omaha, and St. Cloud)
(2) games during Brick City...another possible date is 10/17

Notes: I found the dates for the UNO tournament in the 2010-11 Schedules Thread . Also a Lowell fan mentioned they will be playing Niagara the weekend of 10/15,10/16 so that gives us another avenue to determine when that date is.

So it looks like we have 7OOC games? Does anyone know the breakdown since we are adding Niagara and Robert Morris to the league?

Edit: Found this
With the addition of Robert Morris and Niagara, AHA is going to 27 conference games and 7 OOC games. No idea how they are scheduling the conference yet (It will be 3 games against 5 teams, 2 against the other 6, but it is unclear how they are splitting it. If they go east/west, the western teams [AF, Mercyhurst, Niagara, Robert Morris, Canisius, RIT] are generally stronger than the east so that may not be the best method)

So we have the 7 OOC games, just need a few dates. Now we need to find the 27 conference games. Although by the sounds of it we may not be able to figure out the breakdown until we have more information. Anyone know what it would've looked like had the 2 new teams not been added? Maybe we can figure out who we are playing the 3 games against? Or do you think it won't rotate this year because of the additions?

As far as Union and RPI go, if I were to guess I would say they are on the same weekend because they are only about 30 mins apart.

Authentic RIT Jerseys

Authentic RIT Jerseys

I have a decent collection of college hockey jerseys, but don't have one from RIT yet. A quick online search prior to the FFFF produced only kid-sized jerseys at Barnes & Noble. Could be they were just sold out of the adult sizes. After all, this way a pretty special season...

Anyhow, what's the best way to make the purchase?

1. Game-worn jerseys are great and would certainly be of interest.

2. A replica made to exact specifications (or very close) would also work. To be a little more specific, I'm looking for a game weight jersey with the same embroidery as the team.

3. Light weight practice jerseys have their place, but not in my collection.;)

Any leads? Thanks in advance.

BTW, one more thumbs up to the RIT fanbase. You guys were a huge plus at both Ford Field and Yost.

RIT B&N sells the replicas, but they are lightweight. They are probably out of adult sizes I would assume. The replicas are not the same embroidery as the team.

RIT sells games worns every year. Contact Jeff Siegel at jssatl [at] rit.edu for more info on these.

Thanks for the complement :) I was at both Yost and Ford Field (all 3 games) and had a blast...although better results would have been nice too

Yeah they probably are sold out of the ones at Barnes and Noble but I'm thinking you probably don't want one of those. At this point the only way to get a real jersey is to buy one from the team from the end of the season (if they are selling them, and they usually are). As far as I know the only way you can get one is be asking coach and getting on the waiting list. You'd most likely have to pick it up in person and they probably only sell it to RIT people, but I could be wrong.

I've been nagging them for the past couple years to sell real replicas (the same jerseys as the team wears minus the numbers) at Barnes and Noble and hopefully after the results of this season we'll be seeing them soon. I'll email/talk to them to see what the deal is.

Right now a real jersey (including numbers and sometimes the name) costs about $150 and I'm guessing if they do end up selling replicas they'll be around $100-$125 (the "cheap" ones are $80 I think). If you want a real jersey and not the cheap ones that most people have (no offense to anyone that has them) then you'll either want to wait or find someone willing to sell you theirs. Again I'm not sure how long the wait would be but I'm guessing they should be around in the next year or so, at least I hope so...I don't see any reason why they couldn't do it.

I'm glad you appreciate our fan base...hopefully we can make it back soon :D and I hope we can go up against another fan base that likes to cheer just as much as we do.

They are selling only the orange away jerseys (so no names, just numbers on the back). But get a hold of Jeff Siegel and he'll help ya out.

Every season, RIT will play the following 3 times:
Canisius
Mercyhurst
Niagara
Robert Morris
Air Force

And play the following twice:
Holy Cross
Bentley
AIC
Sacred Heart
UConn
Army

So yes, every other year, they have to go to Air Force for one game.

It was my understanding from the time the announcement of the expansion occurred that the league would be splitting in two for scheduling purposes only (not for standings): Air Force, Robert Morris, Mercyhurst, Canisius, Niagara, and RIT in one scheduling cluster and Army, Sacred Heart, AIC, Connecticut, Bentley, and Holy Cross in the other. Three games (2 home/1 away or 1 home/2 away) against each of the teams in your cluster, and two games (2 home or 2 away) against each team in the other cluster. The only rotation year-to-year would be home vs. away, with no change to the number of games.

(Without Niagara and Robert Morris, the schedule rotation likely would have continued as it was, which would mean bringing us back around to the same schedule as 2006-07.)

Now, if that's changed, then I stand corrected, but I haven't heard anything to indicate that it has. On the flip side, I also can't find where I read about the scheduling format...

Question would be do these jerseys have the Frozen Four Patch on them, if they do one would think RIT would auction those off...

Ok thanks for the responses everyone. So basically the # of games we play against opponents in our league no longer changes just where they are played changes?

So the AHA decided to create an "A" league and a "B" league?? :D ;)

No, Just set it up to make it easier for one of the eastern schools to finish on the top of the league. :) :)

Army and Sacred Heart would appear to have an advantage under the new scheduling system, although it's fortunately only a five-game difference.

Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

The other part of this is that the first round of the playoffs will be done within those groups, that is the bottom four in each region will have a single-game elimination within that region. So not only will a team want to finish in the top four in the league, but it will want to be in the top two in its region.

Every season, RIT will play the following 3 times:
