Yes, parents deserve some benefits (I'm assuming this means parents of students ... not just parents in general!:) ). Maybe I'm out of touch here, but how does one identify themselves as a "parent" to get the discounted tickets? Fac/Staff/Alumni & Students all have (or can have) RIT IDs. Is there one for "Parents" now? Great idea if there is.

Well if we are going down that road how about discounts for Alumni's girlfriend/fiance/wife? :D

Alum Bobby Raymond signed with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. They lead to the Albany River Rats (AHL) and the Hurricanes and Panthers of the NHL.

Charlotte, now, not Albany. And Rochester, too.

For those interested, the women's schedule has been posted: http://ritathletics.com/schedule.aspx?path=whock&schedule=266

Went through it quickly and really didn't see any Women's home games before a men's game, except looks like a Friday in Feb there is a double hitter. May have missed one as I went through it fast. I wish they would be able to schedule a few more women's games before a men's home games, I think it helps the attendance...

Yes, Charlotte and Rochester are affiliated with Florida via their parent clubs. But in Raymond's case, he was signed directly by the Everblades. So he's not on the call-up list for Charlotte, Rochester, or any AHL/NHL organization in particular. If any AHL team likes what they see and would like his services, I imagine they can sign him away at any time. Of course being there in front of Hurricane and Panther coaches and scouts gets him more attention from them. I don't know how heavily the lower minor leagues are scouted outside of their own coaching staffs reporting up the chain.

Yes, Charlotte and Rochester are affiliated with Florida via their parent clubs.

Correction: The Panthers will reportedly no longer be affiliated with the Everblades as they will be severing ties. So Rochester is no longer one of the AHL steps up from the Everblades.

For anyone that might be bored, I finished off the RIT/Denver game yesterday so all my RIT-related galleries are complete (RIT/Denver, F4 practice, RIT/Wisconsin) - http://bit.ly/bNFig7

Note: If you are interested in prints and one does not appear to be available (only shows license option), send me an email. NCAA requires that I take an extra step for some Regionals/F4 images.

I would not be surrpised if AHL teams send scouts there as possible FAs. I would also think that scouts would come to watch their teams prospects and see how they are doing.

Double header weekend Nov 26.27,28.
Men vs Sacred Heart
Women vs Amherst

During Thanksgiving weekend. Should be a great weekend, if anyone can peel themselves off the couch that weekend.

Congrats to Bobby Raymond signing with Florida after spending a year in France.

That's a great idea:rolleyes: ... Pick a weekend when nobody's on campus. And those of us who live in town may or may not have all sorts of free time with all the holiday/family/eating/football goings on.

The Brick City Homecoming website is taking registrations now, so you can purchase your tickets for the BCA game through there. It also noted there would be a free shuttle from campus.

https://www2.rit.edu/brickcity/

You might want to wait on signing up though- It doesn't seem to register that I paid, but they charged my account. Hmm.

So we can't get season ticket packages that include BCA tickets until Monday, but they're selling individual BCA tickets now? What will they do if they sell the BCA out before the season ticket sales begin? Not that I really think that is going to happen, but what if it did?
Cause there's NO WAY I'm missing that game, but now I'm getting antsy waiting until Monday.

I sense a youth hockey night coming soon.

From the Institute calendar, winter quarter classes begin Nov. 29. Maybe people will come back a day early.

For anyone who wants a little hockey in their lives, there's a Scrimmage on Sunday, August 1 at the Sports Center at MCC for the Craigh Charron foundation. A bunch of NHLers and former Amerks are playing a scrimmage starting at 5:30 then there's Autographs & pics from 7-7:45. Tickets are $10, general admission.

More info on the website: http://craigcharron.com/

We'd have a really big party and start prepping the site for that new arena.

(Then they could put all the season ticket holders in the boxes.);)

You know that will not happen so why get so worked up over it?
