You know that will not happen so why get so worked up over it?

That's just my retentiveness when it comes to getting in line for tickets and events. I'm always worried I won't get either the seat I want, a seat at all, a good parking spot, etc...
That and I was just asking an idle question to possibly start conversation, which of course at this time of year is a futile endeavor.

You must have been a complete wreck before a big test...

For anyone who wants a little hockey in their lives, there's a Scrimmage on Sunday, August 1 at the Sports Center at MCC for the Craigh Charron foundation. A bunch of NHLers and former Amerks are playing a scrimmage starting at 5:30 then there's Autographs & pics from 7-7:45. Tickets are $10, general admission.

More info on the website: http://craigcharron.com/
Dan Ringwald will be playing in that game for the Red Team:

I just purchased 5,000 tickets for the game over Brick City weekend for my friends flying in from Miami from the BC website. They plan on tailgating in the underground lot by the areana. Pastilito's and Cuban Coffee for everyone!

I'm just hoping for another free t-shirt that actually fits me.

While I don't think it'll sell out miles ahead of time, I don't think a sellout is out of the question. Last year's crowd was well above what I thought they could draw, and this team created a lot of buzz around town with their run. For example, I wore an RIT hockey shirt to the Jazz Festival here last month, and seemingly every intoxicated 20 something came up to me and screamed something about RIT hockey. (Okay, I had five people people do that.) And, I always get comments now when I wear RIT hockey shirts anywhere. Previously, in about ten years of wearing RIT shirts, I've had zero random people approach me about it. Clearly, casual sports fans have taken notice. If RIT drops a few games, they may all disappear, but I have a suspicion that we're going to see a lot of new faces early on.

I was at a dinner tonight and was speaking to a UNH professor. The minute RIT was mentioned, the first thing that came to mind was the hockey tournament. A bunch of his students are players for UNH and apparently they were pretty bummed out after their loss last season.

The crowd at last years BCH game was pretty good and I don't see a reason
the place will be rocking again this year. I think it's a great way to introduce the new students and their parents to the team and should be scheduled for each BCW.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us drop a few games at the start. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised to see a start similar to last year. But in each of the games at the start of last year they were close. hopefully we can bury our chances early and keep those casual sports fans and show everyone we deserve what we earned last year.

Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

Last years start was so deceiving at 0-5. Could have easily been 4-1, 3-1-1, or 3-2. Colgate, SLU, both Air Force games were winnable or at worst a tie. Game one of AFA was 4-4 in the final two minutes, game two was won with a second left in OT. Clarkson was the only game RIT was outplayed in, even though the shots were 43-25 RIT. Clarkson had the better of the grade A's.

Happened to run into the UNH goalie coach a few weeks ago at a USA camp. The RIT/UNH game came up (not by me, but another scout who was a Denver alum, good dude) and I talked of the second period dominance of the Tigers. Boy, was he not thrilled with that. He gave some two minutes of dominance answer. I responded with shots in the second were 18-6 RIT and the ice was tilted. Yes, UNH hit a crossbar a minute into the period which was huge, but after that, it was all Tigers. Suffice to say, he was not thrilled with me. I never mentioned his goalie, thankfully.

Ringwald looked really good tonight, aggressive as ever, pinching in whenever he could. He did score once, but I missed it because I was on line for autographs already. Man, am I ever going to miss him on the blue line for the Tigers.

You must have been a complete wreck before a big test...

:) Oddly enough, not as outrageously nervous about the tests themselves (not overly relaxed, but then who was?). Spent more stress worried about not arriving so late that I could not get a decent parking spot or choose my seat in the classroom (commuted ~1/2 hour to RIT back in the day).

Whew. The link finally worked right. I tried logging in a bunch of times initially and the link took me to the DiscoveRIT site. Very wierd. Then after I saw your post I went back to it and it worked. Whew.
So, how do we have any idea whatsoever which seat(s) we're getting (those of us in the reserved section, that is), or do we? All it asked for was section preference. I was kind of hoping they'd at least give us the option to have our same seat from last season. I'm guessing they didn't keep track of who was where, or at least didn't save the info in a database or anything. Slightly disappointing, but I HAVE TICKETS (ok, an IOU for tickets - close enough), so no biggie.

Maybe they will ask when you pick up your tickets? I don't know...I bought GA like always :)

Ha, RIT Online executive MBA banner ad on top of page!!!

Looks like Jared will likely be playing in South Carollina ECHL. Hershey has two goalies already, and one is Dan Sabourin, who knows maybe he has a good camp and bumps one.

Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

I think Jared's thought process were that many of the goalies, like himself, are young and relatively unexperienced with a full 80+ game season. The propensity for injuries in a such a situation rises a ton and therefore so do his chances of playing up in the A. While Hershey and Washington are pretty stacked with talent between the pipes, if Jared can get a callup due to some injury, maybe he gets real hot and sticks for a while. Since it's a one year deal, if he can prove he's a reliable option in the A, who knows where it can go from there.
