Re: >>>>RIT 2010 Offseason Thread-"You have to be a genius to go to RIT"

I got my Frozen Four DVD in the mail today. They had a really nice intro on RIT right at the beginning. The player they focused on was Burt. They spoke to his family and had him talk about his background. They also showed some locker room speeches and part of Coach's remarks after the game.
I was hoping for a good shot of the RIT cheering section in Detroit, but I didn't notice one(Not fair- they got Wisconsin fans doing the Badger-Badger-Badger thing). You can kind of see an orange splattering in the distant background during the highlights of the championship game. They had shots of about 5 fans cheering in line, and one of a fan getting a picture with Barry Melrose. They did zoom in on the crowd freaking out after Burt's goal against Denver though.

I watched tonight with some friends...not the best film I have seen, and not quite what I expected...some music seemed out of place, and they could have at least mentioned the RIT presence at the final game.

Page 2? Unacceptable!

Do we have a full list of incoming freshmen yet?

Any news on the modifications to the Ritter? Are they starting this summer?

Did anyone notice that insane number of commitments Air Force has for 2011? 9 Guys plus one that may be 2011 or 2012. There also one other guy for 2012. What is most notable for the Falcons is the lack of any goaltender in that list...

The recurit list for RIT looks like this so far:

Ben Lynch-LC
Eliot Raibl-D
Greg Noyes-LD
Brandon Thompson-RW (2011)
Nolan Descoteaux-D
Michael Colavecchia-LC
Matt Garbowsky-LC (2011)
Josh Watson-G
Adam Mitchell-RW

Hmm, I predict that our new defensemen will be seeing a lot of ice time. Maybe the goalie too?

Basicall you have 3 spots filled Eckenswiller, Haltigan, and Saracino. Spivak was a unsung hero in my opinion last year, but from the impression I am under he still had a lot to prove. Riley Clark is still on the roster listed on USCHO, but I was told he is gone. So you have at least 2, if not 3 freshman on the Blue Line next year with either a freshman goalie or Sophomore who played in 5 games last year....

Thank you Vancouver

Has there been any information released about what they plan to do to Ritter? I haven't heard anything other than rumors and the fact that they want to do something but were still ironing out the details.

My memory may be off, but I thought they were just making improvements in the dressing rooms...

Tom, your memory isn't off. The announced improvements were new dressing, training, and video rooms at ground level on the east side of the Ritter. I would have assumed that construction would have started already. At this point there should at least be piles of dirt and a big hole.

Posted on facebook a little while ago by RIT Brick City Homecoming: It's offical! RIT Men's Hockey Tigers face the Umass Lowell River Hawks in the season opener for Brick City Homecoming at Blue Cross Arena. October 16th, 2010!

I assume that means we will be playing Merrimack on 10/15 at Ritter?

I am again making an AHA composite schedule: tinyurl.com/AHAcomp

If the season opener is October 16, why would you assume we're playing the day before? =) I actually think it's more likely we're getting a rare Saturday-Sunday weekend, based on the wording you quoted.

Last year the Brich City Homecoming was the second game of the weekend. We played Clarkson on Friday and St. Lawrence at BCA on Saturday.
