RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

how has the power play looked this year without ringwald and tanev? that was one of my big concerns heading into the season. ringwald especially was great at moving the puck around and positioning himself for passes.

They scored 2 PP goals against Lowell, but were 0-fer for the UNO Stampede. I think that aspect will continue to improve.

A side note - one thing I saw in the other thread regarding the weekend, RIT will play 2 goalies. He just hasn't said which ones.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Nope, but I did notice he kept putting up some girl that was trying to flash the camera.

Yeah, she was too slow or the cameraman too quick.

What'd we score, two powerplay goals Saturday night. Not too bad!

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Here is a surprise,

Brennan Serville, a defenseman in Canisius’ 2011 rookie class, appears on NHL Central Scouting’s North American players to watch list for the 2011 draft. A JR A defenseman, plays for the Stouffville Spirit in the OJHL. Serville is a possible third to fifth round pick NHL draft pick according to Central Scouting. He is 6-3 180.

Will be interested to see if Canisius gets him next year, don't have any inside info but this all most feels like a guy who will all the sudden go to play Major Juniors at the last minute. He was an eighth-round pick of the Sudbury Wolves in the 2009 Ontario Hockey League's draft. He opted to join Stouffville to keep his options open for a U.S. college offer. He has been offerred and accepted a scholarship from Canisius.

Real hockey players on Canisius?

What's next, real fans?

This article http://www.yorkregion.com/sports/lo...touffville-defenceman-fielding-college-offers states that he wants to go to a bigger college. There has been some talk on the RPI recruit thread here that maybe RPI is after him since the 'Tute has a commitment from his teammate, Brian Neal.

I agree that major junior is a distinct possibility also. As the article states he is Sudbury property, but it seems that a lot of players don't like going there because of its location.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

I was listening to Drop The Puck WHTK (http://www.dropthepuckradio.com/listen.html) talk about the game last weekend and they mentioned Madolora's save in OT. I almost forgot about it after hearing a lot of people mention how he didn't do too well. He did let some soft ones in last weekend, but he did make that great glove save in OT, we should have lost on that shot.

It should have never come to that. We should have won. Just because he made that save does not grant him amnesty yet.

Though if it was not for those soft goals... He was decent. But goals are goals...

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

The offical announcement of Brad McGowan committing to RIT hit the BCHL website this morning. http://www.bchl.bc.ca/leagues/newsletter.cfm?clientID=1413&leagueID=2393&page=47676

The most interesting part was the quote regarding his recruiting trip to Rochester last weekend.
“It is exciting to go to a school which supports their sports teams so passionately," says McGowan. "I went for a fly down last week and they had 10,000 fans for a RIT game at an AHL rink. The energy in the building was amazing and I’m looking forward to being a part of that.”

That is was great to read! Thanks for sharing that!

It was better than listening to this!

Anyone taking the road trip this weekend?

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Anyone taking the road trip this weekend?

i will be there. it isn't much of a road trip for me though, as i live close enough to walk to the rpi game. i would love to have a great showing by both the team and the fans as i know a bunch of rpi hockey fans.

i will also try to post some updates and/or pics during the game for those who can't make it.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Me and another corner crew alumni will be making the trip from Boston tonight for the RPI game. Keep an eye out for the Menard / Favot jerseys ;)

Hey, I am new with this whole season ticket holder deal. How much are jerseys for us?

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Shameless plug:

I am also the Guest Picker for the AHA weekend preview column that is up on the USCHO blogs.

Replica Jerseys are available from the Barnes and Noble store. They are like $75 I think but as a season ticket holder you get 15% off...

The game worn jerseys are sold at the end of the season and they are usually $150, last year they were more due to demand after the Frozen Four appearance. No season ticket holder discount on these. They are sold first come-first serve at the end of the season, by emailing Jeff Siegel.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Thanks, I can't wait to buy one for me and my brother.

Ok not to sound rude but please next time we have a thread please put >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Outside the text<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Looks like RPI's TV coverage of tonight's game will be posted online for free tomorrow: http://www.rpitv.org/news_updates/9-rpi-tv-announces-2010-2011-sports-schedule

I'd rather we didn't.

It looks obnoxious to everyone else, and if everyone did it to highlight their thread, it'd be really obnoxious.

Besides,

and you're there faster than you can look.
