It's fan service. Look at how Fox words its story headlines or its crawls. They're appealing to an audience that already has its mind made up, else they wouldn't be there. That little snarky word substitution releases some pleasure neurotransmitter in the viewer's mind so he returns again and again.

Basic animal training.

The CHP is no stranger to police brutality and controversy. An officer recently resigned after beating a woman on the side of the road during a traffic stop.

Wednesday’s protest was organized by the activist group, By Any Means Necessary, which aims to see “killer cops” jailed

I'm pretty liberal but those cops were fine. THEY TRIED TO EXIT THE SITUATION. Idiots got in their way, and one of them was pushed aside. ABUSE! RACISM! Then one of the morans shoved the officer in return. This dolt knew that he was a cop. What the hell did he think was going to happen?

As far the other officer pulling his gun, well duh. Outnumbered 50-2? That's a pretty big risk in my book. He didn't fire, what the hell are people freaking out about?

I was dumb enough to be in the crowd during the 2002 championship fiasco. I didn't burn or break anything, just witnessing. I was pushed or shoved by an officer a couple of times. Did it ever cross my mind to shove them back? Eff. No.

The far left though is just as whack-a-doo and out of touch with reality as the far right.

They're both really the same animal and are both fatally flawed in their unflinching ideology.

That's why the country will always be somewhere in the middle. Thankfully.

Fox does what it does because it makes money. huge amounts of money. liberal TV and radio don't even come close. remember its a business, not a campaign.

Yeah but that's just how grand juries normally work, they usually put mentally deranged people on the stand to defend the the person who killed someone.

First of all, I'd love to know in what way you regard yourself as "pretty liberal." It's not a trap -- I'm genuinely interested.

Secondly, the far left (by which I mean, say, me) is just as wackadoodle as the far right, but we're nowhere near as well represented. It seems to my (granted, biased) perception that at least one-third of the GOP Congress is certifiable. Of Dems, the only genuine nutbars are probably the more extreme members of the Congressional Black Caucus, which is tiny to begin with. How many Republican Congress members don't believe evolution? Now how many Congressional Dems believe in reparations? Those are nutbar markers. I think the ratio is about 100:10.
