i think they're replacing one of the at-large seat for Kwame... ah, DC.... if they were allowed to run city on their own they'd so run that into the ground hardcore.

Most true.

There is a lot of concern in my neighborhood, SW Washington, that because Wards 7 and 8, the two that are east of the Anacostia have lost population according to the 2000 census, that we might be switched to Ward 8 from Ward 6 (mainly Capital Hill) and Marion Barry would be my councilman. We were once in Ward 2.

Wonder if the kid's track meet or soccer practice will get canceled tonight given this rain...

He has a soccer tournament this weekend. It'd be nice if they could get in a couple of full team practices before their first game...

Because voting doesn't matter. Our politicians do whatever they want regardless of the public.

Ours try to do what they want, but Congress doesn't always let them.

and it sure is terrible. inch of rain last night, and it's still raining, not to mention it's a bit nipply out there!

I'm praying our golf meet is cancelled..an hour and a half drive to play in absolutely terrible weather..plus it would delay me getting home for the hawks game tonight..

I'm betting it gets canceled, but only after you show up at the course.

The same will likely happen with my son's track meet. Canceled after they get to Minnetonka high school.

The soccer practice will get called this afternoon when the city gets around to closing the fields. We go through this every spring. Most of the fields are marshes - barely reclaimed. They even close the ones that were rebuilt a couple years ago that drain really well.

ETA: Hmmm, just realized that if the soccer gets canceled, the kid can play hockey!
