So I forgot to tell all of you that last Thursday two of my friends and I were kicked out of our team's baseball game due to arguing calls with the umpire..yes, we were FANS, and removed from the game. We never swore or said anything vulgar.
Today, the three of us had to meet with our activities director, and we were asked what our role was at sporting events, etc. Clearly the response is to "positively encourage your classmates and your school." We received two week suspensions from all sporting events, with an exceptionm for golf, as I play on the team. I just about **** my pants when I was told I couldve had a 2 week suspension from golf. My question to all of you is, did we get out lucky, or were we screwed?
Once again, we didn't use any vulgar terms, nothing derrogatory, etc. It was things such as, "he was safe! C'mon blue!" or " that's a strike! It's right down the middle!" "Who has control of this game?" (After a player was tossed for absolutely nothing.)
I was just curious what all of you would think. I've heard various opinions thus far, including a parent on the team who is very respectful, not one of those tool parents, who stated that he felt it's the umpire's job to do the game without letting the crowd get into his head, etc.
