Brent, I decided to take your advice that I should ask out you-know-who from Reids...I think it worked.

I *ing told you. Wanna know how I knew? You never asked for her number. She just GAVE it to you. Next time, don't brick as long, and ask the girl out sooner. :p

Now I may be young, but even I know that's an easy catch.:p

You needed advice to ask a girl out? W T F is wrong with you? Is spending all this time with MNS starting to **** up your game?!
Actually, for the reasons brent said, I figured it would work. I just wasn't sure if I wanted to start something more serious than a 1 nighter, I kind of enjoy being unattached.

Asking a girl out does not equate to asking her to be in an exclusive relationship with you. You of all people should know this. :p

And how bad does she have to be in bed to only commit to one night? At least give her a best-of-three series. :D

I know, but its obviously a step in that direction.

Brent: young and quite attractive... also, the dead giveaway was the drunk text she sent me saturday night, at that point I think I had to pursue this.

It musta been your neat hat. :p (and email me that pic from Sat, jack wagon!). No folks, it's not anything interesting. I'm in it.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 133: I still hate you all

None to tell. Just that, why would she send me a drunk text at 5am, after only meeting me a couple times if she wasn't still somewhat interested.
Could be laziness (forgetting to delete your number) combined with craziness (being drunk).

Whatever the explanation really is, pursue it and schtup her drunk ***.

But I'm guessing not, since she appears to be excited about going out and we're putting some plans together. Its a challenge when I'm on the road all week and she works at the bar on weekends.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 133: I still hate you all

Speaking of that, he better hope she doesn't have the herp if she's that aggressive.
I was waiting for you to come in with some kind of response..

only three? how about best of seven, it is playoff time ya know?;)

If she doesn't work out man, give her my number.;)

Yeah, not much to do after bar close except ****. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 133: I still hate you all

So I forgot to tell all of you that last Thursday two of my friends and I were kicked out of our team's baseball game due to arguing calls with the umpire..yes, we were FANS, and removed from the game. We never swore or said anything vulgar.

Today, the three of us had to meet with our activities director, and we were asked what our role was at sporting events, etc. Clearly the response is to "positively encourage your classmates and your school." We received two week suspensions from all sporting events, with an exceptionm for golf, as I play on the team. I just about **** my pants when I was told I couldve had a 2 week suspension from golf. My question to all of you is, did we get out lucky, or were we screwed?

Once again, we didn't use any vulgar terms, nothing derrogatory, etc. It was things such as, "he was safe! C'mon blue!" or " that's a strike! It's right down the middle!" "Who has control of this game?" (After a player was tossed for absolutely nothing.)

I was just curious what all of you would think. I've heard various opinions thus far, including a parent on the team who is very respectful, not one of those tool parents, who stated that he felt it's the umpire's job to do the game without letting the crowd get into his head, etc.

From someone who has ~ 20 Varsity HS games called already this season, you kinda/sorta deserve what you got from how you are telling it... But I wasn't there, so take my observations with a grain of salt...

First of all, you mentioned that there was a player ejection, but you didn't say what it was for... I am assuming for arguing in this case... For things to have escolated to this, there are obvious problems in the game... Something warrented the ejection in the Blue's mind... For all that you know from the stands, it could have been something said that only the umpire can hear... Either way, tensions are already running high...

Second note: When you said "Who has control of this game?", you are directly attacking the blue... That IS derrogatory towards the officials.. Golden rule in Umpiring: You can basically say whatever you want as long as the word "you" isn't used... At the college/pro level, you can say that a call was horses*it and get away with it... But you are heading to the showers if you say "You're horses*it"... At the point in your game, you did address the officials... Obviously they felt that you were becoming a problem that wasn't going to solve itself... Since it sounds like you had been at it for several innings, the officials seemed to have had enough and needed to get control of the game...

Thirdly, NFHS (the main santioning body for HS sports in the US) makes sportsmanship a "Point of Emphasis" each year... Here in IL, we hear about it at each yearly rules meeting... I would imagine that MN is the same... If there is a problem game, the state association wants to know about it... Obviously something didn't sit well with these officials, and they are fully within their rights to take the actions that were taken... Again, it sounds like this game was out of control... The MN HS Association should have had reports filed by the officials within 24 hours of the incedent... Those reports should have been forwarded to your schools AD... If you feel that you were wronged, ask to see the reports.. Obviously what was said in there got your school's attention..

I wasn't there, so I really can't comment on anything else... I know that there are garbage officials in all HS sports... I deal with guys all the time that are "20 year vets", yet they haven't picked up a rulebook in 15 years... It does sound like these could be your officials on this day...

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 133: I still hate you all

On Raceboarder's point of directly addressing the refs/umps, that is correct. General rules of commenting on reffing/umping:

1. Never drop the F-bomb. Usually an automatic ejection (fan or player).
2. Never address the official directly. Like Raceboarder said, you can say "that call was horsesh*" but you CANNOT say "You're horsesh*."
3. Usually, if the above rules are followed, a warning is warranted, BUT it's not necessary, depending on other circumstances (in this case, a player being ejected already, so the official may have felt that he needed to send a curt, stern message to others).
