Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

I was dubbed "mookie" after do the right thing.

Why, I've no idea.... Those two friends still call me mookie. Go figure.

I was dubbed gmann back in grade school. Over the years the named morphed into other things but friends within my "inner circle" still call me g.

Just noticed Angry Birds Rio is free on Amazon Appstore today (for Android at least). Not that $0.99 is an expensive regular price.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

There's a guy I work with that takes all kinds of critters that are past their prime. He does the dirty work. Not that I have a problem butchering chickens, I just don't have the wherewithal to do it while there's still two freaking feet of snow in my back yard and when that's melted it'll be a swamp until July. :(

You can soup or stew layers and thats about it. They make fine soup, as strong a chicken taste as you'll ever get, but barbequeing a year old bird is out of the question.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

I spent a summer on Mackinac Island cleaning up after the fudgies, so I can talk smack about tourists. And trust me, you do not want to know what a quarter pound of fudge and then an 8 mile bike ride does to the average American digestive track. More than a few pairs of underwear were left in the bathrooms I had to clean out.

So you're saying that cleaning up after the horses was actually a better job?

I you were given that nickname after being seen in the S&SS, say no more! We know what the g stands for!

With horses, you have longer tools to do the cleanup, no chemicals are needed, and horses don't mind if there's a stain left. That, and usually don't have to worry about holding back horses for 10 minutes just to do a quick sweepthru of the place. Or Brides in poofy dresses needing to go tinkle when you want to lock things up for the night.

Sent out a couple of resumes today, and I already got an appointment from one of them that sounds pretty promising I think on Friday.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

Earlier today my wife and I returned from our final ski outing of the season. The conditions in Breckenridge were superb. On our first night there was an eleven inch snowstorm. On our second night there was an sixteen inch snowstorm. The mid-mountain base is right at 110 inches as of this morning, which is an impressive total for this late in the ski season. We skied in shin-deep to knee-deep powder for three consecutive days. The bulk of "spring break' traffic had departed the previous week so lift lines were of minimal length. We were able to explore our favorite runs on Peaks Eight and Nine and spent considerable time in the Lake Chutes as well as Horseshoe and Contest Bowls. The bump runs off Chair Six were as good or better than they had been all winter. It was a terrific way to end our ski season.:)

Becker - Monticello is where I cross the Mississippi and and look at how wide it is these days :o
And I am currently chicken free. New batch will be delivered late April

Alex or Glenwood? I used to think I had the long commute here, but there are several employees who live in Little Falls and beyond. Heck, the guy who services our printers and copiers comes from Glenwood

What did you do with the last ones? Chicken soup?

Beautiful day here. In keeping with my attempt to be less plump and out of shape took a long walk. Didn't need a jacket. :) snow in 2 days. Sigh.

Hope you gave them a proper burial of biscuits & gravy or under a mound of mashed potatoes.

Or with marinara sauce and mozzarella/parmesan cheese.
Or in a nice Coq au Vin.

Evening, Lodge. I can't wait to get through this weekend so I can start class on Monday!

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

Yeah, but did it help alleviate any of the sting left by your Pioneers? :p

Mark, Denver had a tough end to its season, but the better team won. Denver and North Dakota played four times this season, and oddly enough, none of the four games was in Magness Arena. Denver earned a split in Grand Forks with a 3-0 shutout, but again, North Dakota was the better team this past weekend. I hope North Dakota or Duluth can win the tournament as I always pull for the WCHA teams.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

We ripped up the linoleum in our kitchen and having the wood floors sanded and varnished. Luckily my parents are traveling for several weeks so we can stay at their townhouse through the weekend while the work is being done. :) Back in suburbia. :( ;)

Anthrax is in Montana. The Unabomber's hideout is there. Glacier National Park is there, too. I'd like to see that sometime.

Little known fact: I lived in Butte, MT for the first two years of my life (born in MN, though! Parents flew back for that!). Until my dad's transfer finally went through. From what I know, it's a hick town in a hick state and it doesn't deserve to exist.

And since it doesn't have a D-I hockey team, there aren't people on USCHO trying to defend its importance, as some do with a state immediately to the east. :D
