Yup. Apparently they've even had cops patrolling the buildings throwing out people trying to sneak into work.

If I were the AFGE, I'd be getting involved right now. Let the federal government know that they have 2 million odd employees who wouldn't be getting paid. With unions in the news, messing with one is political suicide.

I'm sorry, that paycheck syphon has no leverage... you know that, I know that... which is why I don't donate to them. Besides, if the president ends up not getting us paid that's political suicide for him.

My thing to this, I'm worth more than I'm being paid, get out of my way and let me prove it.... a shutdown gets in the way of me being able to prove my worth.

Not to mention the people who are waiting to be given official job offers...

The way that NRL is funded, shutdowns never affected me in the 36+ years that I worked there.

Now one would probably affect my retirement pay since it takes about 6 months until they figure out the correct amount. (I just received an estimate for January.)

Paying dues to them is pointless, since you're covered by them whether or not you pay them. :p

Politics in here?? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh- no.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! friday. finally. when is it friday night?

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Morning, off to the slopes for the day, then down for playoff hockey @ the beautiful, albeit quiet and small Hobey Baker Rink, then back here for some drinking. How much "some" will be will depend on the night and the game, we'll see.

Good mornng Lodge. Getting ready to head up to BJI for the BSU vs. u of m series.

A bunch of my friends (most of them I have known since I was a child) will be in town this weekend so we decided to get a suite for the games. Looking forward to post game activities tonight as well. The father of one of my friends owns a bar in BJI which usually means that drinks are on the house........

S'upp y'all

CHN has a pix of a Libyan rebel with a machine gun--sporting a black sioux jersey. Neat.

Good Morning Lodge

Twitch: That sounds like something my mom would do. I got mad at her a couple weeks ago because she wanted to drive up to my house, about an hour and a half, to move stuff out of the unfinished bathroom before the plumber came. She didn't think that I could move 5 paint cans, a pail of paint brushes, a step ladder and a bag of shop rags myself? Why the hell waste money driving up to do that?

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Will you be at either game this weekend? Perhaps the time has come for a meet n greet!

I sent you some rep, I will be there on Friday but not on Saturday. I won't pay 50+ for two tix then more for parking and more for food to see a game at bu. Well, not anymore. Just costs to much. But like I said, you can find me selling tickets at the front door for the 50/50 since I got corralled into that while the students are on break. I will be the short loud one. Also, I said this in the bu/NU thread, just bring an over sized purse and you should have no problem. Hope to see you there!

hi lodge. friggin friday. the mrs. is still sick so she won't be at the game... *tear*

Go Huskies!
