Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Hey bigblue, did you see who's coming to the Fair this summer? Your buddy Toby!
I did not see that. I will buy tickets ASAP. And I'll be at TKILTBaG the night before, for a "surprise" appearence. Its too bad that its on Aug. 31st. I'll have no other reason to be there, as that is Dairy FFA and Open time. It would have been much preferred if he was there Aug. 26 or 27 or Sept. 3 or 4. Since those are days that I'd be interested in other shows, etc.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Tech got swept this weekend, then stunned UND in 3 games in the first round? Then somehow won the F5 and went to the dance with a 9-29-4 record?

I think JSR's head would pop like a grape.
Hell, the D1 board would be a flaming pile of rubble for a week if that happened from whatever slappy's team that got left out because of that.

My parents are the two biggest morans on the planet.

So next week I get to go to Murfreesboro, TN for some training. I will be leaving at 9:50 Alaska Time Sunday night, and arriving in Nashville at 10:30 Monday morning Central Time. I then have to pick up a rental car and drive about 30 miles to my hotel in Murfreesboro and check in.

So what do my parents decide to do when they find out about this? Drive 600 miles down from Michigan to Tennessee to see me. Now if they had planned to spend a couple evenings with me, this would have been a worthwhile endeavor, and I honestly would have enjoyed seeing them again. Of course, these are two people who actually think Two and a Half Men is funny, so they didn't. Turns out the only day they had planned on seeing me was Monday, otherwise known as THE DAY I WILL HAVE JUST SPENT TEN HOURS HOPPING BETWEEN RED-EYE FLIGHTS CROSSING NO LESS THAN THREE TIME ZONES IN THE PROCESS AND STILL NEED TO PILOT A MOTOR VEHICLE 30 FARKING MILES AND CHECK INTO MY HOTEL. All to have maybe a single hour-long dinner together.

And they wonder why I never call.

They could at least offer to pick you up at the airport in Nashville and drive your rental to your hotel. They gotta go thru Nashville to get to Murfreeboro anyways, they might as well stop and pick you up there.

Cripes. First set of plans for the weekend fell through yesterday. Went to plan B, which just fell through as well. Am I actually going to save a little money this weekend?

Maybe, I don't have much planned either, and I was wondering (hoping) the same thing. I'm going to some high school hockey, 4AA and 5AA finals at the hippodrome (state fair).

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

District playoffs start tomorrow for my kid. Not looking forward to driving back and forth to New Prague, but it could be worse - the PWA and B1 teams are playing in Regions in St. Cloud. In these playoffs, they only play one game a day until you go to the loser side, so you drive back and forth usually.

ETA: Just realized that Ben Hankinson, former Gopher, is up in St. Cloud for two kids so they might just stay up there. He's got a second year PWA and a first year PWB1. I wish those games were closer, my son has buddies on all those teams and we'd like to go watch some...

Don't start with me, woman. And you're not the only one that will feel my wrath. I'll also confiscate all the Techies' booze supply, lock Bro Gin in a room with a hundred dirty hippies, play NMU's loss to SCSU and make 'diva watch it, send RalphPa back to work, and burn Giada at the stake.
