Regarding your rep, how did you prepare the wild rice?
Chicken, wild rice, greenbeans, mushrooms, leeks a bit of cheese, sour cream, with milk to make a sauce. Pretty yummy! The boys who are abominable at trying anything got chicken, rice and carrots. All seperate.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Pictures would be great on it and I can see it as useful for idiot bosses:D. Its a nice piece of equipment. It'd be perfect for my wife, she surfs, collects her pics, music etc. No need for a laptop, its only 3/4 of an inch or so, easy to travel with, perfect

there's some talk about some ipads becoming available at work... to whom and for what I'm not sure... I heard a couple of people talking about it... one guy who i could see using it... the other I could see using it but it wouldn't be work necessary/relevant... I wouldn't see it as necessary/relevant/useful for myself. Of course, if I worked at a real place of work I'd be able to take my hypothetical work laptop down to a table somewhere and tap the day away while people watching.

Is it May 15th yet?

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Beef tangine with tomatoes, butternut squash, shallots, cinnamon, nutmeg and chili powder for chow tonight. A nice little kick to this one! Good evening all.:D

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Venison stroganoff and salad. The deer was little old and chewy, but smothering it in mushrooms and sour cream gravy makes it OK, right? ;)

Need to see if I could book a flight that work would pay for and then would need to find lodging for Tuesday night.
You can crash here that night. It's a fairly short trip to either downtown from here.

There's a Chick fil a at the Burlington Mall??

Thusday night, went out for drinks. My friend who left the company came in to meet me, we had fun. Her husband joined us. And paid. Had a martini, a glass of wine, crab cakes, mac n cheese, tuna tartare (which I've never had before - eh). And hottie bartender. Good times.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

five guys for dinner.

When it rains, it pours. Found out from my Dad this afternoon that he's moved out of the house atleast temporarily for the time being. Suffice to say, I've had half a dozen breakdowns so far. This isn't really what I wanted to deal with going into my last rifle match Saturday, and taking my USCG License retake next Tuesday.

Hang in there hp. It will all be there after next week. They are grownups and you can't fix em. They were putting thier undies on all by themselves long before you were born. DO your thing and deal with them later.

There's one in my neighborhood... I haven't been there... sad my only five guys visit was in 2007 at DCA.

Remember, you need to do things for your future... I know that doesn't help much but you can't let other people take you away from what you need to do. I've been too busy to keep up with everybody here... but if what your post implies is correct, I think they'll be proud of you getting through your last days of college at a high level... but find some time to get stuff done but find some down time as well... but when you need to... dig down and block it all out because it isn't going to help you and you need to do the best you can... you deserve nothing else.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

When it first came out, I was firmly in the "it's just a bigger iPod" camp, but I liked the big screen's possibilities for movies, e-books, web, etc. If only they could knock a couple hundred off the price, it would be perfect as a mobile entertainment center. That's pretty much exactly what they did.

When the 2nd gen comes out, if the 1st gen drops into the $300's that's pretty much a no-brainer for me. I'd have a solid laptop for around the house and an iPad for entertainment and light work on the go, all for under the cost of a Macbook. I don't want to pay through the nose for a data plan for a smart phone, because my current cell phone plan is a bargain.

Who would have thought Apple of all companies would be winning on price?

I wonder how long it'll be until it becomes a plausible/pricey way of replacing a memo board? Can you imagine putting one of these bad boys on the fridge door or other places around the house? I remember an earlier "hack" was to make it into a recipe book. I don't see it as a bad idea really... except maybe that they need batteries... so maybe it doesn't work on the fridge without a special port.... just thinking it out loud.

edit: hell, tie it to a decent pair of speakers and I could see my mother using it in the kitchen in some manner.

Will keep you all posted when I know what the plans wind up being.
I'm off starting that morning, so let me know if you need anything.

BBDL shush. You don't know how nice my hospitality is! :p

The hospitality is nice, the host himself is sketchy.

And * work today. This week has been mandated an hour earlier start-time (9am instead of 10am). So I ask DHead boss if that means if we state we cannot stay late, it would mean leaving at 5:30 and not 6:30 (read: I can go watch MN-MTU tomorrow, which starts at 6:30). "No."

However, the "regular" 9am shift people, the mgmt tries to push out the door as close to their regular shift time as possible. The 10am-ers? Notsomuch. *ing bullsh*. We're there until the end. I haven't seen less than a 9.5 hour day this week. And tomorrow, we have even less man-hours than any day this week. 8pm, here I come! Ugh.

And if MN is losing when I get home................I may end up on the evening news.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Just because I threaten to skull**** my guests if they don't shut the **** up when I'm trying to sleep doesn't mean I'm a bad host.

No, no, no. That part is valid. I just wouldn't drink or eat anything you offered me, unless it was tested first. :D

I was probably still drunk, as evidenced on that following Sunday. That was a bad weekend. And you were in the same boat. Re-BOX.

Edit: and I'm male. I know you wouldn't go THAT far.
