Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

I'd love to know how you rang up a $1900 bill on a car with 30K on it. This doesn't pass the smell test. What the hell are you driving?

Well, the 30,000 mile check up was almost $500. Replacing front and rear brakes and 2 new tires, plus labor.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

So brakes plus 2 tires ran you $1400? Unless you're driving something really high-end, quite frankly, I think you're getting soaked.

4 tires for my truck plus complete brake replacement ran me just under $900.

I don't want to see you get taken advantage of, dear.

A tip of the cap to Tech for last night's win over Denver.

This evening the Pioneers seemed to display more purpose in their play. Adam Murray played uncharcateristically well and, after the team allowed the game's first goal to Tech, the Pioneers rattled off the final five goals of the contest.

This was a weekend which showed in the WCHA many things are possible as the top five teams struggled throughout the weekend with none of them posting a sweep. And in HE top rated BC lost to Northeastern. Denver certainly needed to rebound from last night's unacceptable performance and it did. It will be interesting to show how the team does next weekend against Neb-O, which is 6-6-1 in its last thirteen games entering tonight's contest against the Seawolves. Good night all.;)

Welcome to Massachusetts... though I wouldn't doubt that Scarlet has some nice wheels... I wouldn't know... but we'll let her say what she wants, if anything.

* hockey table. Lost to #26 Union 5-2.

Going up to the mountains tomorrow to putz around on the snowmobiles with the old man and hit up a few bars. Might see if Terry Pegula (Penn St. Founder/Donation guy) is at his daughters restaurant/bar tomorrow, would be cool to talk hockey with him for a bit.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Well, I was going to remain at the happy hockey table win or lose tonight. When someone offers you a road split at DU, you take it.

But then Kevin Genoe had to go and let in a Jeff Frazee Memorial Goal which landed him on SportsCenter, so * hockey bar it is!

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

I need a ruling on tie games. Normally I would go to the happy hockey table, but it was Brown which makes me want to go to the * hockey table. What do the rep elders say?

That's why I've opened the Tie/Bye Sushi Bar! Tie victims and Bye Week victims are welcome to plop down and enjoy a steaming hot bowl of noodles.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

I went to the dealer and had my scheduled work done that I Didn't get at 30k. (I just went over 50k). Got all tires, all breaks, all checks, plus oil for 1300 on my mazda6.

Just returned from the po-po station. Sil was too drunk to drive from her club, so I had to drive 140minutes rt to bring home. Weeees

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Hm. Hit the bars. Not much going on with us. Saw a fight or two, plus tasers, cops, and also gunshots. Yep, interesting night.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! sunday. day of rest.

...and mr will have an early spring this yr. Officially eliminated from the playoffs with 2 weeks of the season left. Just one more home game and 2 against UVM (who will beat us in their own barn). wow. Most bad luck in a season ever. Multiple long recovery injuries, now the flu and a kid with some sort of family bereavement thing. This team needs a karma cleanse!

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Not according to the mechanic, especially given the fact I do a lot of city driving.

Are you a two footed driver, or a total lead foot? If you don't drive with a foot on the brake, or alternately hammer the gas then the brake, your brakes and tires should definitely last more than 30K.

I guess I should have gone to the HH bar, but I went to bed instead. Gophers tied a huge rival on the road and the kid's team won, but didn't feel great about either one. Gophers had a couple leads, but couldn't hold them, the peewees should have hammered this team instead of a 2-1 win. The PWs have a huge rivalry game tomorrow night with another Edina team. They win and they should end up tied for 1st in District and win the tie-break, lose and they'll be 3rd. They haven't played a real good game in about 2 weeks.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

It better exist. If not, I'd love to know just where I'm sitting.

If you're happy with tonight's results, sit at the happy hockey table. If not, you go to the other one.
I'm happy with last night's results. My team won, plus Western lost.

Good morning, Lodge.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

I'd blame it on the car. Brakes at 30k is comical. Assuming that most cars are similar, they don't even need to be checked until you hit 60k miles.

Tires at 30k is also a bit nutty unless the car came with low-end crap.

Boston potholes, and city driving can kill a car. Brakes would take a hit for sure. You have to remember a garage in the city is going to have much higher rates. I get 90,000 out of a set of brakes and 70,000 out of a set of tires. I also do my own work, front brakes with new rotors and ceramic pads cost me a few hours and 200 bucks

Lil's team lost 6-2 last night. The happy part- the other team got a misconduct for celebrating drawing a penalty (they were up by 4 goals). The ref really gave the bunch of them a talking to before he dropped the puck again, first in the middle of the ice and then over at the bench. These kids had no class and their parents never have any either. I always go somewhere wher no one can talk to me so I won't be tempted to ask them to take a pill. Why whine about an offsides when they haven't called it right all game and you are winning big?? Why laugh at kids when they are called for a penalty that is marginal? They were clapping when the kid took the dive for the trip. Coulda had an academy award. Moved into that town when I was a teen and hated the overall mindset in sports. Hasn't changed. Still hate it. The misconduct was a moral victory.

Just back from church. Cinnamon crunch bagels are in the toaster and a pot of hazlenut coffee is brewing. Good morning.:)

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Morning.

Sorry I didn't make last night. But I've been having stomach pain the last 2 days. Didn't think drinking would help that.
