Bittersweet day here at work. My boss (for the last 23 years!) is retiring after 37 years with the company. While I'm happy for him and wish him all the best, I'm concerned for the future. For the first time ever they've gone outside the company to fill a staff position. I'm not worried per se, but it is going to be a culture shock when the new guy starts in a couple of weeks.

23 years.. yikes! They did a buyout at work so we've turned over 3% of our work force last week... good-bye institutional knowledge! My boss retired in all this which I'm not thrilled about because I like having somebody I can go and talk to in order to update things on and have a sounding board. Also, in a place as large as my work place you need somebody who has been there a long time to figure out who to go to and figure out who does what.

Hope you guys can convince John Hill to come in and coach the Mavs! I'm sure he can encourage them well.
