Checking in, Lodge. Working for vacation -- just have to get through the rest of tonight and through tomorrow night. Then 1 meeting for 2 hours. Then...vacation!

Kind of a cross-post from another thread, but fully realized I've been to Houghton at least once a year for 10 years straight (soon to be 11). All because some midget told me I need to experience hockey up there, to really experience a small-school atmosphere. Oh the memories from that first Invasion. :D

My first words upon seeing NMU's arena......"Wait, what? A pole barn? You guys play in a pole barn?"

1 week. There are more than a few of us that really need the break right now. Just get away and go to the middle of nowhere.

that bacon looked sweet!!!! going to be making a return for work mid-sept & expect to eat a couple pounds of bacon/day (the real kind.... turkey was the offer today).

I keep seeing a vison of mookie wearing a Sheik's robe over his overalls and cowboy boots! :eek:

Thankfully it's not a bad as the S&SS!

mookie got to meet the md of the fund yesterday and was wearing, of course, the boots :D

mookie brought two sets of work shoes. the brown boots and the black boots!

Evening. I will probably get a talking to, tomorrow. DHBoss is in IL (HQ for something or other). We have a couple special orders on hold. At 4:45, 30 minutes before cutoff, he says "Ship 'em." Um, each one takes about 10 minutes to do, ONCE I dig out the boxes I need, and get the others ones I don't have from the main building (which I would get them at 5:15). NOT HAPPENING.

Told him that (all communication was via IM), but he had left the office.

Seriously, let's wait until the last minute. :rolleyes: He has a habit of this.

4 more work days, 4 more work days........

In downtown LA. Compared to Boston, this is...an eye-opener. PM has already told me to Uber everywhere - no walking.

Reminds me of Detroit, but with a population.

I have to admit....when I first went to CO, and Quiz drove me around...the drivers on the highways there....JFC. GUN IT! SLAM ON BRAKES! GUN IT! SLAM ON BRAKES! I was a bit nervous at first, then remembered, "Sh*, Quiz lived in Boston for a while. I'm good." :D

Back home. Week's over. 1 down, 207 to go :D

Not sure what the issue is with heat. Walked a couple miles after work yesterday Walked around the old souk ten picked up a phone in the KW equivalent of Best Buy. Again out in pants and had a couple shirts on. Couldn't tell it it was 110 or 109.
