Thank you!Happy Birthday Jimjamesak!
Storms just kicked the Twin Cities' arse this morning. Reports of damaged house siding/cars due to hail, heavy winds and rain, etc. My patio was covered with pea-sized hail; as in COVERED. Thank goodness Maggie is parked in the underground parking. If she got damaged, I'd be PI*ED.
We got some bad hail out in GDO this morning but it was my dad who got it worse. Golf ball sized hail and trees and branches down.
I was hoping to get a new roof out of this. Not sure I have enough damage to make a claim.
S-I-L lives in Blaine & is out of town with her family. Ran up to check and her house looks like it was shelled. :eeK
Luckily the damage is all siding (and possibly shingles when an expert looks) no windows broken or interior damage.
Lots of shredded leaves in the area and a few hail drifts.
Hit 86 indoors here in the Land of 300 Days of Sunshine*.
Was strangely comfortable, but I admittedly was sweating like a stuck pig.

Bostonians - let's say Fade has one night in Boston this Friday, and is coming in around 6 (will be brutal for the crowded & popular places, I know). Where should I eat? Staying at the Logan Hilton (have a 7:30 flight on Saturday, or else I'd be at the downtown one for the same price, so don't judge). Looking downtown, East, and Orient Heights, so not far.
I've been to a few joints before - Mario's in East (good), Boston Sail Loft downtown (meh), Fiore in North End (pretty good), Bostonia Public House downtown (good), New Saigon in Orient Heights (best pho ever).
We were driving down 494 when it hit. Because we were in the south metro it was just a ton of lighting and rain. A couple hail patches, but probably not even pea sized. I have been worrying about what I'll come home to all day, but it is just a bunch of leaves and twigs. Whew.
mookie will have to venture to new saigon and try this out
mookie goes to new dong khanh in chinatown for pho.
mookie is a fan of d'parma in eastie (maverick sq). there is also a d'parma in winthrop if fade is adventurous. much nicer looking place, but the food is the same. santarpio's in eastie is also worth a visit as it is close.
if fade is downtown and wants to spend money go try o-ya![]()
