Good morning. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

GO PIONEERES! SCRIOUX THE SIOUX!

I hope they do better than your Evilanche did last night. :p

Nice move by Josh to play through the pain so Wade Dubelhoweverthehellyouspellhisname didn't have to come in cold.

Morning, Lodge. Today should be a good day. My parents are coming up (which means I get to eat out for free all weekend), my only class today is broomball (skipped one and the other was cancelled), and most importantly...

I FINALLY GET MY CAR BACK!!!
:D :D

I've been bumming rides for almost a month and a half now, so it's going to be fantastic to be able to drive again.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

Mark, I've been to Hanover a time or two, but it's been many years. It's not the easiest place to reach. I hope you'll have some type of audio/video access to the game.
Dartmouth is a great rink to play in but the locker rooms are weird, there are stairs involved, always a dicey proposition when you are on skates.

I have one of my 4. One of the others was sent home, so I'm waiting for my mom to send it. 2 of 4 still missing.
I am waiting on that stupid "I bought health insurance form" for mass and a 1099. But I have my w2

i can't wait until tax season... filing in 3 states but I should get a fair bit of my money back... especially seeing as how the feds sucked up a fair bit of my signing bonus.

Anybody use H&R block or anything else... i'd rather not shell out like $150 to do my returns but my work situation makes things strange. I'd rather just use TurboTax software or something.
I use turbo tax. I also have personal business income to report (and expenses to deduct). My photo business doesnt make a ton, so the turbo tax software in my mind, is a good deal. I pay a little more, but get it filed correctly. I dont think my business grosses enough to justify an accountant. If I had stayed in mass, I proably would of been finding an accountant for this tax year.

I just go with my family's accountant, mom-pop shop, pay about $50 and support small business while knowing my taxes are done right.
Its nice when you have a local you can trust, but there are also alot of yahoos out there. My parents went to some local guy for years and my mom discovered there were thousands of dollars of unclaimed deductions, so she went back and ammended all the taxes and now she does software.

I have to be honest here I am kind of shocked I am not working for the olympics. I would of thought with my background I would of been a no brainer for a job. I even read stories that they were having a hard time hiring enough people (at least for the transportatioin side of the games) and yet nada. Oh well VANOC's lost.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

Going by the clues Mel gave me... that's the guy I ticked off!!

If that was the beer thing, you didn't. I told him you didn't know, and you felt bad about it.

Apparently he didn't like that I was up there in general, at least from what I was told at a later point.

You bought a ticket. I don't see what the big deal was. It's not like someone went without (as I was told FlagGuy was short due to backouts/etc). Oh well, it's over and done with.

I doubt WPOS would get mad about something like that. In fact, the only time I have ever seen the guy get truly mad at all is when some idiot crosschecked him "after the whistle" during pickup hockey. (I did make a point to apologize to him later, though.)
He was pretty ****y about the whole thing.

And I once saw him break a stick over getting hit by Noel. Everybody knows she's not the greatest skater in the world. Chances are, she's going to run into you. Repeatedly.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

Happy Friday kids! Went out for a martini last night. Maybe it was because I hadn't had any alcohol in a while, or maybe it was because I got a headache about 2pm (but went out anyway), but by the time I got home, my headache was full force so I just went to bed. But it was nice to go out and catch up with my friend. And see hottie bartender. :)

Traffic was inSANE this morning. Cripes. I live 5 miles from the office. I drove in today because BU has a game tonight. Left my place early enough to get to my little $14 lot but the traffic caused me to not get here till after 9am so that lot was full and I had to park in the $18 lot. I hate when that happens. And it freezing. But it's sunny.

Today is my last day here covering for my internal client. She comes back from maternity leave on Monday. Yay!! I need to start moving my stuff back up to my desk in my department.

Morning Lodge.

First morning driving to the new office. It kinda sucks having to drive after more than a year of just walking across the street.

I would like to echo goldy's thoughts about Shot's favorite NHL team :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

morning Lodge. Stuck in Albuquerque due to lousy weather in Denver. So I'm mooching internet off the airport. :)

Hey Goldy, My Evilanche? Not so much. I'm a lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan. You know, the nice fellows who sent the Mild Guillaume Latendresse not so long ago.;)

Good luck to Dubie now that he's on the Wild roster. I hope he gets to play a few games for the team. He was the first of what has turned into a decade-long run of top flight goalies for Denver [Dubie, Berkhoel, Fisher, Mannino, Cheverie].

Have a good weekend.

Get a better weather report. Looking out my office window at present it's a gorgeous morning here. Really. :)

You could at least get his name right, it is Bill Tenderness.

Goldy, Let me add that I enjoy living in a city which has an NHL team. I also enjoy the fact that this year's Avs team regularly plays six or seven collegiately trained players...most notably Denver's Paul Stastny who leads trhe team in scoring and will be playing a prominent role on the U.S. Olympic team in a few weeks.

I find it easy to cheer for NHL teams which incorporate a solid core of collegiately trained players into its lineup on a nightly basis. I'd like to see the Wild have a few more such players.

God, I hate when I have to agree with you.

I even liked the Wild's former player named Annti.

Antii Laaksonen. He was DU kid. Won a medal in the 2002 Olympics playing for the Finnish team. Very popular player when he was at DU. Played a bit for the Avs as well.

Let me make you cringe just a bit more. The Avs have been playing an enormous number of rookies this year. They interviewed one such kid last night before the game. The kid has only played four games [he has one assist] and he played his fifth NHL game last night as a fourth liner. Ryan Stoa. He was terrific for the Gophers and I think he'll be a good NHL player as well.

Gee, I don't suppose the Mild would want a kid like Stoa in the lineup. Nah. :p

Stoa was interviewed by the Wild broadcast as well. He said that he really wants to be back in Minnesota, but for now, since he's playing in the NHL, he'll settle for Colorado. Sounds to me like he'll be on the Wild sooner rather than later. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

Morning, Lodge.

Supposed to be going out of town this weekend, but now they're saying we are going to get 8-12 inches of snow tomorrow. Wouldn't prevent us from going, but may stop us from being able to get back on Sunday, since even half that much snow will shut stuff down for a week here, and the roads probably won't be clear until the second Tuesday of next week. Got some thinking to do.

Southerners do not handle winter weather well. EVERYBODY PANIC!!!

Either the forecast has recently changed or you are not in part of VA near DC. :)
