Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

I somehow ticked him out of a game. that he invented

That may have been the most drawn-out game of Beer Darts ever. :o

I'm guessing he was pretty drunk at the time or was having an off game (it happens even to the great ones) but regardless a win is a win. Well done. Don't forget to tell your grand children about how you took out one of the great ones. :D :p ;) :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

I hope he gets to play a few games for the team. He was the first of what has turned into a decade-long run of top flight goalies for Denver [Dubie, Berkhoel, Fisher, Mannino, Cheverie].

I've been enjoying the lights out performance Mannino has been giving with the Wolves.

Quite odd to see all the WCHA boys working together so well this season.
Doell, Mannino, Crabb, Sterling, Kaip, Kozek, Pohl, Stapleton... :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

I think they're contractors to be honest... its my location... PG County is fairly iffy throughout. As a contrast, where Ralph works there's probably at least a dozen eating options within walking distance (Mall food court, Hooters(?), Rock Bottom Brewery, PF Changs, a few other nameless bar/restraunts, Cosi, etc. [edit] forgot about the IHOP) Out here you hear stories about stray bullets and while I'm not a snob (growing up in Fitchburg Mass, school in Lowell) the local population can be a bit scary.

Where do you think that I work? :D

I work at the Naval Research Laboratory http://www.nrl.navy.mil/ which is south of Bowling AFB and north of the Blue Plains Sewage Treatment Facility. The pickings are just as bad as in Suitland. There are two places to eat on base. One is a Subway (about a 10 minute walk) and the other is a Dominic's of New York Cafe (1 minute walk). I usually bring lunch.

*sniff, sniff* Hmmm.....I smell the distinct aromatic essence of an annual grudge bet!

Geez, I hope the Big Midgets don't gets scared or nuthin' when they find out there are teams in college hockey other than Bob B. Morris, Nigeria and Alabama-Huntsville.

For starters I plan on attending a good portion of BSU's WCHA away games next season. If you could, please make reservations at a decent place that serves a wicked NY strip. Why? Because you will be buying me dinner in Denver Saturday night after BSU wins the game Friday night therefore allowing me to win my bet with you. :)

I meant to do this last night, but for any uneducated people out there:

http://www.beerdarts.net/main.html?submitButtonName=Accept

While I don't play since I don't drink. I was aware of the website and am very familiar with the game. I've seen it played a few hundred times in person at Gopher hockey, Vikings, and Gopher football tailgates.

As a matter of fact, a few times when tailgating at sporting events in other parts of the country I've mentioned the game and the rules as sort of a Beer Dart ambassador. When doing this I've come to realize there are alot of people in the world who are unfamiliar. The word must be spread.

One of the time was when a strip club in Tampa was holding a tailgate for a Vikings/Bucs game. For some reason it caught my eye so I decided to park there and hang out for awhile.

Says the guy who was planning on going to DC last season and the Temple this season and went to neither. I'll believe it when I see it.

DC was never really an option. I had plans to be in Vegas and cancelling that trip would have been career suicide.

I was 50/50 on going to the games at the U.

If things work out I will show up to watch BSU in the post season (if they play locally and if they get to Detroit I will be there). However...........my job dictates what I can do and when I can do it and at times things can change with little or no notice.

That sounds like an interesting dog, should be pretty smart and easily trained? Might have some energy though:D

I think he will be on both counts. He is about 6 years old so he fairly quiet, and a little on the timid side, but he loves attention and seems to mind well. The getting aquainted process has only started though. I got him Wednesday from an elderly gentleman who felt that he was unable to give the dog the attention and exercise he needs.
My hope is that he will be able to be unleashed with me when I'm outside and in the woods.

"Hello, Pierre?"

"Ah, Mr. Shot, your most high excellency! How may I assist you?"

"I got a live one for you Pete. I've reeled him into a sucker bet and I'll be bringing him by the place next season."

"Ahhh, very good. And you'll want us to provide the 'usual' treatment for him?"

"You got it Petey. This guy's a complete bumpkin."

"Never seen indoor lighting or plumbing, eh?"

"That's him Pete. He'll be buying me prime rib and pommes frites."

"And you want me to make sure to serve him $#IT on a Shingle, correct?"

"Right. Tell him it's the nightly special. He'll probably want a doggy bag filled with it."

"Let me guess. He's probably a Vikings fan too?"

"You're brilliant Pete. The guy's a total nutcase."

"Very good Mr. Shot. Have a splendid weekend and GO PIONEERS SCALP THE SIOUX!":D

Awww, man, the deaf guy selling roses just came through the office. It's about 15 degrees and he's out there going door to door selling roses for his charity. I see him about 3-4 times a year and always give him a donation. I only had $4 in my wallet, so he got that. If I knew he was coming I would have grabbed more money this morning before I left the house.

Got motivated and picked up some stuff for a great breakfast tomorrow: bacon, eggs, green/red peppers, a whole jalapeno, salsa, tobasco. Already have the pancake mix. Man, if I made mimosas, this could almost be SAAG-worthy for a meal. ;)

I did work there for two years on a detail assignment from 1990 to 1992 at ONR. ONR wanted me to stay, but my personality wouldn't have there.

Have to get this thread filled up so the leading digit in the Lodge thread # will match the leading digit of Ralph's post count.

One would think for as seldom as I post in here these days, I'd be able to think of something more astute to write.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

So I'm writing now from my lightning fast, quad core PC with 8GB RAM. This thing rocks. Windows 7 is nice too.

The doctor wants me to type with two hands to help with my recovery. Since the operation I've been typing with just my left hand because of typos. I'm also faster typing with one hand, but I'll try to go back to two. I'll also try to fix typos, but make no promises. :p

Have I mentioned that its freaking cold outside?

I think your treatment of Gmann is quite rude. You invite the entire Fighting Sioux fanbase to your house for dinner and you offer him $#IT and he has to pay for it? Shame on you Shot!
