GTL?

I've only seen about 10 minutes of that show. I don't know how some people can watch more than that.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 98: Favorite Alter Ego

The Guidos must have been otherwise occupied that day.

Well, it was about $40 with a minute left, and some Guido tried to out-vulture me. * that guy.

Truth.

For the record, I watched two episodes. One to see what it was about, and another to confirm my opinion of the show.

Franco American Spagetti (cold) and chocolate milk
I can't believe this Lodge only came up with one other hangover remedy.

Greetings from the ER etc etc etc
Glad to hear it's looking like nothing serious! (Prednisone -- yikes, that stuff is powerful.)

Geeze, now I just realized I need to worry about the playoff picture for the peewees too. Our kids sit in 13th of 20 teams in our District and the top 12 make the playoffs. Of course we have from 1 to 3 games in hand on most of the teams above us, just need to win those additional games (and the fair play points too, stupid penalties  ).
Goldy, now that my kid's playing hockey, I'm reading up here and there. I saw a website by this guy Dan Bauer, coaches high school in Wisconsin. He thinks there's way too much emphasis on games, not enough on practice. Thinks it's obvious you improve by practicing, not by skating up and down on the big sheet for an hour, maybe touching the puck for a total of three or four minutes. How's it look from where you sit? (Maybe this is too big for one question, eh?)

He's just spouting the line first delivered by the Soviets, and then later adopted by Warroad. Of course practicing more will make you better at the fundamentals. What it won't give you is a passion for the game, or the ability to recognize plays in an uncontrolled environment.

I happen to think that the best players are developed first on the ponds, playing totally un-coached hockey. You develop your ability to handle the puck, to dangle the opponent, and tease the goalies. Then you learn hockey in a structured environment, and you can truly become a complete player. It's like all the Finns were saying during the last Olympics, they didn't fear Team USA because all of those players grew up in structured environments. They grew up without the inventiveness that one gets by playing on the pond, just for the joy of the game. All Team USA could do really well was hit, and that wasn't much help on the Olympic sheet.

Flat pop (usually Diet Coke/Pepsi) and a greasy cheeseburger and/or mac and cheese.

Ew. I always went with flat 7Up/Sprite, saltines, and chicken noodle soup.

Wait, that's the wrong remedy.

I always went with a G2 Gatorade, a Monster Khaos, and one aspirin. It provides rehydration, temporary energy until you get rehydrated, and pain relief.

Sausage, Egg, and Cheese on a bagel from DD.
at home: buttered toast, water, 2 Tylenol

"And then I had to watch a third episode, to make that's really what I thought. Then, I had to watch a couple more episodes, just in case the second and third episodes I watched weren't actually typical of the show. Caught a sixth episode by accident - I thought it was a "Knight Rider" rerun. I watched a seventh episode because I thought they might have tweaked the show and made it better. Nope. Of course, I watched a eighth to remind myself what I disliked about it. The 9th episode was so that I could make sure they didn't change the show, and that it was still everything I disliked from the first 8 episodes. At that point, I figured I'd just order it on DVD from Amazon. If you need me, I'll be in my bedroom watching it."

Well, nice quote, but no more Jersey Shore for this guy.

It does make excellent material for a drinking game...

So does every other show on the planet. You just have to watch it enough and note the tendencies. Hell, when we watched "Star Trek: The Next Generation" we came up with a drinking game. Good rules, though, like when Wil Wheaton (Wesley on the show) flirted, you drank 2 shots. If he got some, you slammed your drink. If Patrick Stewart (Captain Picard) *blocked whoever played Riker (second in command) you took a drink. Stuff like that. Not geeky crap like drink when there was a red alert.

It sounds crazy, but Taco Bell has worked every dåmn time for me without fail. I can't explain it, but it works.

That's my pre-hangover hangover remedy. 3am Taco Hell tastes good, somehow tricks your body into thinking it has nourishment, and somehow you feel better in the morning.
