kinda funny happening at work today....

i get in and open the email and there is a blanket COMPANY WIDE email send by a dude on the IT help desk... i'm guessing he is haitian or has family there, anyhows.. he starts out about the earthquake and the tragic situation. missing family by many co-workers in the firm (i work for a large outfit, hq in canada. big offices all over asia) who come from haiti. then he lists all these websites where you can donate to the cause to help out the victims and adds.... "if you want to stop by and give me a check or cash you can do that too if you are uncomfortable giving over the internet. you can also send me funds directly via paypal at "soontobefired@yahoo.com" :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

well a couple hours after that, another COMPANY WIDE email comes from corporate communications stating that just this morning the firm made a large donation to the red cross to help the rescue, and a list of approved, honorable relief agencies that are going to help. then the line comes about "another earlier unauthorized email" sent by an employee "assuming at this time good natured" that offered a paypal address to donate. this was, of course, frowned upon. nobody, we were told, should send money via paypal to an employee when there are other organizations that have such easy set ups to donate.

I negged young mr/s. dorksiak as I was in a neg repping kind of mood and s/he is upsetting 'diva and got a gray chicklet for my troubles. Did someone turn him/her? When I neg repped, the color did not change.

Some people think the antics are funny, and they must be making him green. Right. Mocking a nice guy is real freaking funny.

Oh, wait. I'm not supposed to get mad for someone mocking a person I care about. Forgot that rule. :rolleyes:
