Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

The play-in occurs on Thursday night.
Quarterfinal Thursday, March 18, 7:07 pm
Semi-final #1: Friday, March 19, 2:07 pm
Semi-final #2: Friday, March 19, 7:07 pm
Third Place Game: Saturday, March 20, 2:07 pm
Championship Game: Saturday, March 20, 7:07 pm

Here is some more information: http://www.wcha.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/10-mens-final-five.html
Just a general question to everyone: When and why did the convention change from having games start at 5 minutes after the hour to 7 minutes after the hour? I know when I was growing up Twins games were always 5 after and at some point game times for most sports have changed to 7 after...is this a midwest thing or is it this way everywhere?

I had heard this was for media broadcasting purposes, but I can't recall the specifics of why.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

I wouldn't be surprised if it was an after 9/11 thing to give time to show the "Star Spangeled Banner" as part of the broadcast.

Wouldn't surprise me either, that's about 2 minutes worth of time. I suppose the 5 minutes before that are for player intros and the last bit of the pregame show?

Morning, Lodge.

10/23/09 Denver 3 Minnesota 0
10/24/09 Denver 3 Minnesota 0

It's apparent you don't understand the conditions of my offer. Your school must have a team in order for you to make a competitive bid.

Next bid please.:)

hey Brent...

BOX!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

The Denver Pioneers don't play a series this weekend. Bearing that in mind, I would be willing to cheer for your school's team provided the right financial inducement is forthcoming. Let the bidding begin.

Good morning. :)

SLU plays Colgate and Cornell this weekend. Nobody really likes Cornell, right?

Argument: SLU 5 BC 2.

Well, we are playing a WCHA team this weekend... ;)

Please read the conditions of my proposal. Your school must have a team [okay, Q-Tip barely meets that condition] and that team must have won at least one of its last dozen games [Q-Tip falls short in this regard].

Again, next bid please. :)

Ooooooooh! Oooooooooh!! ::raises hand:: The Boston University Terriers have won their last two games!! Including an awesome game outside in the cold and snow at Fenway Park over our heated rivals which probably caused my current sinus infection and swollen glands and general all-around feeling grossness. So, in order to combat my physical unwellness, it would be awesome to have a WCHA fan join me in rooting for my team as we try to crawl our way back to respectability in 2010 since I'm not at 100% to do so. Also, the game is being televised on NESN on Friday so if you have a dish, you could probably watch it!

How was that?

A team record of 6-9-3 with losses to UMassiveTwo$Hits and Northeastern? How was that? In a word==> pathetic.

Next bid please. :)

Well, we could be playing for our conference title this weekend against Miami.

1. Have a team
2. Have won in the last dozen games
3. Have a winning record
4. Don't want a DU fan cheering for us

Keep looking :p

You're playing Providence. If you need extra help to beat them, then you automatically do not meet the first criteria of having a team, right?
