Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

SLU plays Colgate and Cornell this weekend. Nobody really likes Cornell, right?

Argument: SLU 5 BC 2.

I attended the SLU-BC game during DU's holiday event. An impressive effort and exhibition by Saint Lawrence especially after trailing early in the game. However, your team's loss last weekend to CHA bottom-feeder Nigeria [home to the nutcase who tried to bomb a U.S. plane on Christmas] weighs heavily against your bid being accepted. I will however give the matter closer consideration.

Next bid please.

1. Have a team
2. Have won in the last dozen games
3. Have a winning record
4. Don't want a DU fan cheering for us

Keep looking :p

After consulting with my attorney--RonHisHorseIsDogMeat--I have been advised not to cheer for a team whose mascot is a lame duck. Bid rejected.

Next bid please. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

Please read the conditions of my proposal. Your school must have a team [okay, Q-Tip barely meets that condition] and that team must have won at least one of its last dozen games [Q-Tip falls short in this regard].

Again, next bid please. :)

Maine still has a team, has a winning record and will win at least one of their games this weekend... (sorry Jon)

That's a fair red flag to the bid, however I would like to bring this into consideration:

Afterwards, Marsh summed up a recurring theme — praising a Niagara club which has a poor record.

“They are a deceiving team,” he said. “We all know they are a better team than their record. They are a dangerous team. I thought it was good response from their team tonight.”

So deception is part of your bid, eh? Bid rejected.

Next!!:)

Actually, no:

“We took a lot out of this game. Actually more in terms than we did last night. I cautioned the guys before the game, ‘Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security. You are going to see a different team.’”

They were who we thought they were... and we let them off the hook!

Your original bid involved saint Lawrence. Now, there's going to be a different team. Therefore, your original bid--and all succeeding bids--are rejected.

Next bid please.

10/23/09 Denver 3 Minnesota 0
10/24/09 Denver 3 Minnesota 0

It's apparent you don't understand the conditions of my offer. Your school must have a team in order for you to make a competitive bid.

Next bid please.:)

A team record of 6-9-3 with losses to UMassiveTwo$Hits and Northeastern? How was that? In a word==> pathetic.

Next bid please. :)

JFC, aren't you Mr. Picky. Well, there's a new episode of Law & Order. Why don't you just sit yourself down in front of the TV and watch that and give yourself the weekend off. :)

You're playing Providence. If you need extra help to beat them, then you automatically do not meet the first criteria of having a team, right?

Having him root for BU isn't giving the Terriers extra help to beat Providence. If BU was currently undefeated I would have proposed the same thing. He asked us to propose a team to root for. I offered up my team given that, physically, I am not 100% and could use the assist. Does one not need reading comprehension skills to get into that northland country school? Sheesh. :p ;)

Denver changed their silly tournament into a showcase to eliminate the chance of being beaten by a deceptive Saint Lawrence, eh? Be scared, Pioneers; be scared.

Thanks for that info, but I have Tivo.

A weekend off? Probably not. A strong possibility is heading to the Springs for the CC-Wisconsin series to root against both teams.

/checks schedule to see if/who UAH is playing\:p

I'd think he'd want to cheer for a team that is going to win... :p

Bid submitted.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

hey Shot, instead of watching hockey, why don't you drive up to Minnesota and run Brent over with your car? I think everyone would be satisfied with that.
