Seems obvious to me. Why waste it?

BBDL, I take it you'll be at the Gophers-Flickertails games next week. One or both? My kid is going with a teammate and his dad Friday (company party for me) but we'll all be there Saturday.
No, I won't be able to make it, I'll be at the Tech-UAA series to see if we can set the record for ****tiest D1 hockey game ever.

edit: I may possibly be at the Benilde-Edina game next Tuesday

Good luck with that. I'd say you have a good shot at it. ;)

Partiers!

For the first time in my adult life I live in a Division I hockey town! After work tonight I shall don my AF Hockey T-shirt, UAA sweatshirt, and Michigan home white jersey to attend the AF/Connecticut game here at USAFA.

Life is good - and it's Friday.
Denver resumes WCHA play tonight by hosting Alaska-Anchorage in the first of a two game series...
Just because I'm wearing UAA gear tonight doesn't mean I am a Pioneer-hater. I packed my hockey clothes this morning, before I knew who DU was hosting.

Its OK, hating DU is perfectly normal.

In hindsight, I stupidly thought that folks who make it to grad school are capable of reading a syllabus. Not to mention listening to the prof introduce the course and his expectations in what I felt was a pretty clear manner. Whoops, my mistake.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised, considering that I used to wonder how in the heck a couple of profs I've had in the past managed to get a PhD. ;)
And then someday you'll get to work with a bunch of idiots and wonder how they stay employed.

That sounds like a lot of clothes. Take it off!!! Though, I will accept if you feel the need to keep the Michigan jersey on.

You're welcome. :)

OK, so help me with this--to get rid of the cough, am I supposed to drink whisky, or gargle it?

Yes. In copius amounts. And then post here.

You're fully ensconced in the world of academia so it goes without saying you wouldn't have a clue as to what's happening in the so-called real world. I'd go so far as to say you're an academia nut. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 96: What should ctf/Foxton2/jailbait do with her life?

Good morning! I'm not going back to read everything fromt the last 18 hours but I assume everyone has been witty & bawdy. :)

Went to the STA-H-M game last night and then out for a celebratory drink with the boss - really good HS hockey game and the Basil Hayden on the rocks was even better.

I brought donuts in to thank my soon to be former co-workers. I'm a hero today. :) I had a temporary assignment in this department since August and without this I would have been cast off the mother mining island several months ago, figured I couldn't go wrong with pastry. :)

Morning, Lodge.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 96: What should ctf/Foxton2/jailbait do with her life?

Here in 320land it is 9 below zero with wind chill of 29 below zero. :)

Psst. We've told you before, it's either -9, or 9 below zero, not both. You're not from Stearns County, are you? :p

Good morning Lodge.

So mathmatically speaking, is that 9 degrees with a 29 degree wind chill? :p :D

:D :D :D

Apropos of gmann's not knowing how to use the English language to report the temperature correctly, I am reminded of the lyrics to Sonny Boy Williamson's terrific song. [My favorite version of the song was done by Muddy Waters back in the days when, among his bandmates, were Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Pinetop Perkins and Bobby Margolin.]. Here are the lyrics to Nine Below Zero.:)

Yeah, ain't that a pity, people ain't that a cryin' shame
Ain't that a pity, I declare it's a cryin' shame
She wait till it got nine below zero, and put me down for another man

I give her all my money, all of my lovin' and everything
All of my money, all of my lovin' and everything
It done got nine below zero and she done put me down for another man

Nine below zero, the little girl she done put me down
Nine below zero, the little girl she done put me down
She know I don't have nowhere to stay, and I don't have not one dime

"I've worked in the private sector, they expect results!" :D

From you :D

What are your thoughts about the teams? Did any players stand out? Is Isackson still hurt? Are you still planning on going to the STA-CDH game on Tuesday? If so would you like some company from a guy would maybe a CollegeHockeyAddict?

Looks like somebody needs to contact their pharmacist to get their meds refilled. Poor little guy. :D

CC to F2B&G, re: rep - You should come to some of the club games. Unfortunately, they've been the best games I've been to this season.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 96: What should ctf/Foxton2/jailbait do with her life?

So, I'm filling out my performance review stuff at work.

Things I really want to list as accomplishments but won't:
-Survived another year of being surrounded by morons without injuring them or myself.
-Enjoyed laughing as 4 people tried to do my job and made something that should have taken one week and cost ~$1,500 turn it into a 2 month project costing ~$24,000 (not counting the wasted labor).
-Fooled people into thinking I was very busy and working hard when really I spent 4 hours/day playing online.
-Was "the voice of reason" during several meetings according to design engineering manager
-Schooled Chinese suppliers at basketball during trip to Shenzhen
:D

You should definitely put the last two on there, though maybe reword a little. The others, yeah, I'd keep to myself.
