Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

Night/Morning lodge.

Sorry about the bad news Les, echoing the thoughts and prayers sent your way along with everybody else.

'Diva: Anything in particular you want possible recipes for? My mom uses her crockpot for a whole bunch of things, I'm sure I could pass along some good ones. She just made a pretty awesome corn chowder, not sure if that interests you at all.

I get to go to the dentist too today in just short of 12 hours. Hopefully it will just be another routine cleaning, and the cavity free streak of 21 years, 4 months will continue =]

Hm, corn chowder could be good. I'm a fan of the flavor of corn, but not the texture (yeah, I don't know how to explain it either.)

Off to the JLA soon. I don't have a dog in the fight here, but I'm excited to see/meet some of the other posters! :) Besides, I need some cheering up after my David's Bridal experience today. I just paid $143 to tell myself that a dress fit and generally be ignored. (Though, the dirty look I got from one of the brides in there when I came out in my bridesmaid dress did make up for it a bit ;) )

Plus now that you'll be living in the Chicago area you'll probably get to see me soon enough. The bucket list includes alot of things in Chicago.

Yes it was the 08 Beanpot and some girl who is a photographer MNSed it and didn't take a picture of me when I was on the scoreboard for quite a while. Who could that have been?
Yeah I am kind of looking forward to exploring Chicagoland myself.
And I am sure I was sick in 08 and didnt know better.

Sounds like a fun magical mystery tour you have planned. I would ask if I could join, but I think I'm going to a hockey game at Camp Randall that weekend. :( It will be cold. But since I missed seeing Michigan beat Wisconsin at Thanksgiving, I'll have to settle for the February game.
Ohhh game at camp randall, I heart camp randall (for oh sweet drum corps memories). Are there still tickets for it, oh wait, maybe I will just get a photo pass.

That would be sweet, to shoot TWO outdoor games this year.

As for moving, movers are not my friends, they dont want to return my calls, and my start date is only two weeks away. BLEH!

5 hockey games at four different arenas >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 1 hockey game. Especially when the one is in a football stadium in Wisconsin.

Normally I'd agree, except that

Michigan hockey >>>>>>>>>>> everything (in my unbiased opinion)

That, and I already have a ticket and plans with 10 other friends.

It's a shame when people lose sound judgement especially when it's because they like the second class U of M. :p

If you want to have some fun with Badger fans bring a sign that says:

Hey Badger fans,

How many dead deer have you had sex with?

As you may know when the Badgers score they count their goals.

After the first goal: One we want more
After the second goal: One, Two want more
and so forth

At the Kohl Center they don't allow signs larger then 11x17 unless you're the Badger old guy who leads their cheers. Who is grandfathered in (literally). :p

I'm not sure if they will have the same rule (and enforce it) at Camp Randall.

If you do use my idea. Take a picture of the sign I want to see it. :)

I know. Someday people will learn the first class U of M is Maine...

You mean the team I drove 26 hours round trip to see and then they get shut out by Providence? I did get to met a really tall and cool Maine fan and his lovely wife. Hmm who could that be?

I'm not a Maine fan but I do try to give respect where it's due and I had a blast at Alfond. Random fans even ones who don't post on the board and had no idea who I was where stopping me in the concourse just to talk hockey. It was very clear how much passion Maine fans have for hockey. I want to get back to Alfond one of these years to see the crowd when they score some goals.

You should have gone to Alfond in the late 80's - before the arena was expanded and the real fans were priced out. My freshman season it was still pretty loud even though we still had construction going on in the wings. :p By 1993 (even when we were racking up 42 wins and a national title) the expansion was complete and the place became a morgue. Alfond used to be so loud a friend of mine could hear it in his dorm room across the parking lot when Maine would score a goal. Some moron engineer thought it would be a good idea to soundproof it.

The fan experience at Alfond is good, but it used to be so much better.

I would say the same thing about old and new Mariucci. New Mariucci is alot "nicer" but old Mariucci was alot louder. Goldy had a perch that was above the ice. For some reason referees didn't like it when he would "accidently" drop one of his toys on the ice. ;)

Yeah engineers ruin everything. Dam I hate those people.   ;)

BU could say the same thing. Agganis is very nice, it has great amenities and real boxes, etc., but it has lost the vibe of Walter Brown. There were times when it would get so loud at Walter Brown, you couldn't even hear yourself think (low ceiling, loud fans). Agganis, even when it does get loud, doesn't even approach the same intensity as WBA. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

You must be confused, I am not a gopher fan.

Looks like it's time to ditch work a bit early and see how much of the Tech vs. Sparty game I can catch.

Says the girl who enjoyed spelling out M I N N E S O T A after four Gopher touchdowns during a game in 2008. Plus you wore a Gopher hockey cap. Just admit it. You love the Gophers.
