Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

I got another crock pot cookbook in my stocking. More creations for me to attempt.

Oh, and my parents' idea of how to celebrate their 40th anniversary: the family is going to Disney World in February. Right in the middle of tax season. This oughta be interesting...
Ummm.... yeah, thats right when you're making your long green right there. If they bump it up to maybe end of January, it wouldn't be too bad for ya. But after that, yikes!

Yeah, Mickey has been playing fast and loose with his deductions...

That will get you a suspension! Just ask Foxton ;)

I had an MRI this morning. I'll get the report Wednesday. Hope my little friend isn't growing back yet...
Prayers your way.

Speaking of which- for those inclined would appreciate some prayers headed our way. MIL passed last night. We got the call this AM. My FIL is devastated. This is the 3rd woman he has buried who died of CA. (CA sux!)

And my work sucks. THey are freaking because the funeral is going to be on Thursday when I was covering by myself in the AM. They want to know if I am taking the whole day or only part of it. Not how are you doing, can we do anything for you  Why should I be feeling guilty if I take the day after my MIL dies. Why sould anyone even assume that I would not take a whole day. I feel bad for my boss (not for the a-hole other NP) but for pete's sake! It isn't like I planned for her to die or had a say in the funeral:mad:

California does suck! :p

My boss did that to me when my aunt died. Company policy was 1 day off with pay, but he was hoping it would only be a part of the day. But at least he asked how I was doing :p

Sorry for your loss. :( And sorry for Lil :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

Les, when my grandma died, my mom's company told her she could use sick time for the funeral. When she said no, that's unacceptable, the scheduler told her she would have to use sick time or she would be in trouble. She called her supervisor who basically told her the same thing. She had to go above that to make sure she got berevement leave. I hope you hammerpunch everyone that doesn't have sympathy for you at work.

It was before my time, but it's kind of a legend.

Some nutjob criticized Ferris State's fanbase, calling them drunken idiots and referring to their arena as the Dumby Barn.

It even had its own song I believe.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

Sorry to hear, les. :( Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. And that sucks about work. You don't have bereavement leave?

I'm watching The Princess Bride right now. Such a great movie.

Well, I thought I did but no one seems to be thinking in this vein. I still have 1 week of vacation, 8 sick days and 2 personal days that I could burn to so it isn't like I am out of time.

Thanks for all the thooughts and prayers folks. It is a nice feeling.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

I heard a rumor that the CHA magical mystery tour maybe making an appearance out east with tentative stops as follows:

Friday Feb 5th: BU at Mass-Lowell (7 Eastern)

Saturday Feb 6th: Dartmouth at Brown (4 Eastern) and Vermont at Providence (7 Eastern)

Monday Feb 8th: Bean Pot thrid place and championship games

The Gophers are off that weekend.

Going to these games would give me a chance to visit three rinks I've never seen before, hopefully hang out with multiple posters, and experience the Beanpot championship game.
