Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Outkicked their coverage? Hey, I'm lucky if I'm even on the Scout Team getting the bleep knocked outta me in practice. ;)

Rudy! Rudy!! Rudy!!! Right there with you, hoss. The long suffering Mrs. Eagle got a promotion last week (yeah her!) and I'm scrambling to find a job. :) I submitted a plan to her where I become a trophy husband. Yep, it was rejected - right after she stopped laughing at me. :D

For those of you keeping track at home, I 1) did not go Norm Peterson knick-nack-patty-wack during my interviews today and 2) was told by the highest ranking manager type I spoke with to tell HR I need an extension through January on my full time status and "not to worry and enjoy the holiday season" because I'm an excellent fit for an opening the will be posting shortly. {crosses fingers}

Say....gmann alleges that he has a new job. Maybe your job will be doing those things he wasn't able to do in his former position, which is just about everything.

Hang in there GE. :)

That sounds promising! Good luck!

FUBAR is AWESOME.
A group of my friends (SCuM included) created a Candy Land drinking game. That could mess you up fast. :)
My friend from high school taught us how to play a drinking game called "ride the rocket". You put down cards in the shape of the rocket like so:
_____[]
____[][]
____[][]
____[][]
____[][]
____[][]
___[]__[]
Then the rest of the deck gets dealt to everyone playing.
You start on the second row (the first row with 2 cards), the first column is give, the second is take. Flip over the cards 1 at a time, if you have the card that is flipped in your hand, and it was a "take" card, you have to take a sip, if it is the "give" column, you give your card to whoever you want to make drink. The first row of cards (not the nosecone) are worth 1 drink, the second is 2 drinks, 3rd three and so on. Once you get to the fins, it is the same thing, except it is finish half of whatever you have left, give and take, as before. The cone is the last card flipped and that is finish your entire drink, if you have it in your hand, you can't give that one away.
Then you have to count up the cards you have (counting the ones that were given to you to make you take a drink) and whoever has the most cards has to "ride the rocket".
Riding the rocket....you get dealt 10 cards. 2-10 are worth nothing. Jacks are 1 drink(sip), Queens are 2, Kings are 3, and Aces are 4. Start flipping your cards, one at a time, if you get one of the face cards, you have to drink the appropriate amount, depending on the card. The catch is, the dealer adds as many extra cards to your pile as drinks you have to take, so if you flip an ace, not only do you have to drink 4, but you have to make it through 4 more cards. You keep on with this until your cards are gone or the dealer's deck is gone.

It is tons of fun!

Because I'm in a "holiday" mood, I thought I'd share this picture, cuz it's so stinkin' cute, IMO. 1 month today. Happy Holidays!

This is a hockey board, we want pucks or sticks and not little footballs, although the laces on the feet are cool:D

Off for a night on the town with Mrs. Shot. Dinner at a favorite cafe of ours and then on to a musical adaptation of Little House on the Prairie.

I hope all you LODGEONIANS enjoy your evening. :)

If you're eating Japanese style, you're not meant to eat tons of it anyway. You're supposed to eat slowly and savor the flavor of the dish (that's why sushi traditionally only comes in 6 or 8 roll plates - also has to do with the size of nori sheets). If you do that, you end up surprisingly full after fewer pieces that you'd think.

the rice can fill up, that's why i generally stick with sashimi. i will though go for rolls if it's something interesting. (sakura bana's spicy scallop roll for example is wonderful :D )

I wish we had a place that did the boats around here. That's so much fun. Although I also like to sit at the sushi bar and talk to the chefs as they are making my order.

most guys have their bartender, their barber, etc. Quiz and I have our sushi chef. We're heading in there next Monday to tip him a 20 for Christmas. We go in there 1-2 times a week and are his regulars. Our sushi is ready within 3 minutes of sitting down.

3 nigiri (2 octopus and a piece of super white), a cucumber roll, and splitting a crab and asparagus tempura roll and I'm good to go for the night.

Beer + Popcorn. mmmm Just like being at a bar minus the high prices! :D
Add some Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese to your popcorn and you've got a winner!

Evening, Lodge. Three loads of dishes, a load of laundry, made dinner, took the trash to the road, and cleaned up the kitchen. Does anyone need anything done while I'm still up and at 'em?
