I've had actual tuna, and I've had the stuff in the cans. I find it really depends on the context of your meal. Sandwich on the go? Canned will work. Nice meal? Get the real stuff.

sushi is an amazing food. And not the crap that a lot of people think is sushi. California rolls are NOT sushi. I'm talking sashimi. Mmm octopus. :)

A California Roll may be boring and ordinary sushi, but it is sushi (maki to be exact). Sashimi, because there is no sticky rice, is by definition not sushi (though sashimi is extremely good).

I like Holiday parties especially ones with A LOT of food. I wouldn't need to eat for a week after today. The shots are good. I have a feeling that there wouldn't be alot of work getting done this afternoon. :D

I've tried sushi once in my life. Don't ask me what I had, because I don't remember. It was NPB, but I don't know if I could eat a lot of it.

Go to a good sushi ya and you'll be hooked for life.

'diva - I think it should be played that way. 99% of the time the floor is disgusting and the ping pong ball is wet (presumably having recently been in someone's beer cup) and picking up all the germs, dust, dirt, bugs, etc that are on the floor and then being tossed into a beer cup that someone drinks from. It's repulsive.
Beer Pong is the most overrated drinking game ever...

Quarters, Moose, Hockey, 3-man (Got kicked out of The Bun for playing it), Ring of Fire, FUBAR (sometimes called Categories), P&A...and any random thing we could turn into a drinking game...were what we usually played
"let's get the girl in the group really drunk".
At North Dakota we call that "playing drinking games" :p

I knew the quality of GVSU students would go down after I graduated!! :(
Is that even possible? :D

Agreed

My first sushi experience was while I was on business in Vancouver, B.C.
I was nervous, yet intrigued. My host sat me down at the sushi bar, complete with the floating boats, and taught me the ropes. Although I prefer it while on the west coast, there are a couple of places here in the TC that fly their stock in fresh each day and have excellent sushi chefs prepare it.

I wish we had a place that did the boats around here. That's so much fun. Although I also like to sit at the sushi bar and talk to the chefs as they are making my order.

FUBAR is AWESOME.
A group of my friends (SCuM included) created a Candy Land drinking game. That could mess you up fast. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Greetings lodge! Today is my last day in the classroom until January :)
Sometimes I wonder why there's an obesity problem in this country, and then I read comments like "There isn't even any butter in the pan. Who the hell taught this person to make bacon." and then other people agreeing that bacon should be cooked in butter, and I remember. I like greasy food, but bacon fried in butter? Why not just buy a tub of lard and go to town?
Seriously!?!!?!? Bacon in butter!!?!??!?!!? Bacon doesn't have enough fat of its own!?!!?!??

Besides, why alter the great taste of bacon with butter?

If you're eating Japanese style, you're not meant to eat tons of it anyway. You're supposed to eat slowly and savor the flavor of the dish (that's why sushi traditionally only comes in 6 or 8 roll plates - also has to do with the size of nori sheets). If you do that, you end up surprisingly full after fewer pieces that you'd think.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

'Bando--were you there the year they played "'Soup' Pong"?

No, but I heard plenty of stories. That group is full of bad ideas gone... well, worse :p
