Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

So, what do the monkeys do then?

ETA: I'm worried about the latest Deathstorm coming. For one thing I'm supposed to drive 4.25 hours north (to Silver Bay) tomorrow - at least away from the storm, but then back tomorrow night. For another, I'm afraid the ice on the pond isn't thick enough yet. What happens then is the weight of the snow forces water up from under the ice which then causes the snow to freeze to the ice making it all rough and pebbly with ridges and stuff. Hard to get a nice rink out of that without a ton of work.

The monkeys will continue with the usual stuff. Now I will just have more of them to deal with........statewide. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR71GnQ4CU4

Regarding the Deathstorm. This morning I heard on the radio (830 WCCO)that the make up of this strom only occurs every 10 to 15 years?????????

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

Just spoke with my wife who informed me that a cousin of hers--to whom she is very close--found out he has a node in his bladder that is malignant. Its presence was detected when he was having an examination for another condition. The tumor was caught in the ealy stages of development. He will have a procedure done in his doctors office in the near future. If you have room on your prayer list to include him, please do. THank you.

:( Will do.

Smoothing out the ice sounds like a good job for the kid! :p

Seventeen pages later, and here I am again.

I definitely fell asleep playing Farmville on Facebook last night :o Woke up an hour later. SO glad I have a few days off. I'm exhausted.

That's a sure-fire sign it's not going to be that bad.

I'm so glad I have the ability to work from home when Giant Death Storms happen...

I just accepted a promotion via my employer.

The next couple round of drinks in tLodge are on me.

Going forward Mr. Shot you can call me Mr. VP. ;)
Congrats, gmann! :)

It's been a slow day and I'm glad. Nice to be able to breathe every now and then...

.

You know what else I love? How sure kids get that they're going to have a snowday. This goes for the university kids, too.
Not the Tech ones.
My conversation with my mother today:
"Mom, I think I'm going to stay in Houghton today."
"No, you probably shouldn't, there's that huge storm coming."
"Exactly, so I need to be able to get to class in the morning."
"If this storm comes, classes will be cancelled."
*brief pause* "Are you high?"

No. With my promotion I can cook the french fries all by myself. ;)
This reminds me of the things they have at McD's about the employees that have worked there for 25 years and whatnot. ;)

SiouxTechie texted me earlier, apparently there was a fire at her appartment building. :(

Good thoughts headed your way ST and let me know if you need anything.
Ditto, not the first text I wanted to wake up to this morning. :(
♥ you ST

Morning Lodge.

According to my rep I missed someone almost murdering Bakunin.
It was slightly amusing.

Hope you get it figured out Wally

Thoughts toward your friend aSaG :(

eta: - Made it home OK on 94, but it got worse the closer I got to cityslickerville. Some people are total idiots on the road, but you all knew that already

Yeah, I was talking about the NMU ones. NMU WILL close during finals week (which it is here this week) if the weather is too bad. That way, people aren't risking danger driving in to take an exam (and anyone who berates that policy is nothing short of a complete jackarse), but NMU students (especially freshmen) expect the university to close if we get anything more than a dusting. They'll start squealing "snowday" at the smallest thing.

And that's a good call just staying in Houghton. Probably the safest call.

Evenin' Lodge...

so today, I had one of those days where I wished it was tomorrow (crappy customers, co-workers, etc.) because I had the solace of a day off tomorrow.

Boss calls and says he won't make it in due to snowstorm, so I need to be in.

I like my boss, but Mother Nature sucks. As do three catering clients.

In honor of Charlie Brown's Christmas Special...
