Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

How late did you stay? My drive home was messy but not that bad. And mmmm, chicken parm.

I did something to my left hip. It's very sore and I'm having a hard time walking. I went out to dinner last night and as I was walking to the car it felt a littls sore, like maybe I sat funny. Overnight it really started to hurt. I feel like it's a pulled muscle or something. I just took 4 Advil. I'll probably try to ice it tonight if it's still bad. Don't want to go to the doctor yet because by the time I can call and get to a doctor, it will probably be better. Why bother spending the time/money. I just wish I knew what I did.
I was out until about 11:30, but I took the T back to Wonderland and then took a cab the .8 miles home. I was a tad tipsy and didn't want the bf to have to drive in the snow/slush (particularly since he'd been home and not out at the game). He was a busy bee while I was away though -- set up the new bedspread and bedskirt, folded some laundry. I was flattered! :o

:( Is it a reaction to the hockey team being a pain in the áss?

That guy is hard core. I've had the same thing happen duck hunting in the past, but duck hunting is usually shallower water and you have hip boots/chest waders to get you out of the boat to clear ice.

I liked the last sentence of the article.

"The news release from the sheriff's office notes that Huber declined to say if the walleyes were biting." :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

And?
They can come hang out. If they'd want to, that is. We've had people play pop darts before. Heck, I did it the one year I gave up drinking for Lent.

What a bad year it was to do that, too... Uff da.

 You are a far stronger woman than I will ever be. :)

It looks like the worst of it on this end will blow through very early Thursday. By the time you guys come through it should be cleaned up.

Tell him to swing by, Aparch. I don't want to be the only 17 year old. And there's no guarantee I'll be drinking.

Like I said - Hard Core

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

I hope the work week passes quickly. Mrs. Shot and I are planning to go to Breck and Vail this coming weekend for our first skiing of the season. Really looking forward to it and the weatherman is cooperating by forecasting big storms for the central and southwestern mountains in Colorado early in the week. The storms are needed as the bases at nearly all the ski resorts in Colorado are quite thin.

I hope everyone has a good week, even those lazy batstards [gmann] on vacation. ;)

Hey Gonzo, As Mrs. Shot and I are going skiing later this week, I thought it would be a good time for me to continue your ongoing education about all things related to the sport.

Today's word is: skiing.
[noun]==>the art of catching cold and going broke while rapidly heading downhill at great personal risk. :D

And that is why I don't ski.

Me either. Like I've said before, I have enough problems fighting gravity without overtly taunting it. :o

Speaking of dangerous downhill things...
At Tech, we get to use Ripley for free. My cousin convinced me to learn how to snowboard. I've done it a few times. Wasn't terrible, though the t-bar kicked my åss. He told me we'll use the chair lift, and that I'll be fine. I bought some boots that were majorly on sale a couple years back, and my aunt had a really nice Burton then moved to NYC, so that's basically mine now. Good thing I've got the Blackberry so I can post from the hospital... ;)

It won't snow though. I put the blower, chains and wheel weights on my tractor yesterday. If I do it when it's not snowing, it usually doesn't then. If I do it while it's blizzarding outside, we get bombed with snow.
Its a good plan. Might not be one hundred percent effective, but it beats waiting around til the snow hits to do that. Thankfully, our tractor here is big enough were all I have to worry about is just putting the blade on it and we're good to go. Love having that front loader bucket on it.

Good morning.

So you're saying within a few days the first numbskull of the winter will drive his sled through this and into the lake.
Gotta thin out the herd somehow....

Bah, he only did all of that bed stuff there to get you in bed. :p

I could have slept another 2 hours this morning... i'm not even exhausted... just sleepy.

Same here. Was suppost to go give the last instructor massage that I needed to give before getting cleared to start working at the student clinic at school today, but she called me around 10 as I was just about to head out her way to tell me that she was sick and canceling all oppointments today. Oh well, probably too late now to get it done before the 17th, but its just something we have to have done.

Oh, I do hope so. The thought of going the long way... ish...

And the not drinking wasn't really that hard. The worst day was the Thursday night of the Final Five. I would usually have an over priced beer or two at the X while taking in the play in game. Just nice and relaxing. Couldn't do that. Not drinking while tailgating was fine. Didn't even miss it when I "needed" it most after the regional that year.

Okay, since you two show obvious signs of desperately wanting to become avid skiers, I'll provide you one more term closely associated with the sport.

The term is: ski bum
[noun]==> slang term for someone who, because he/she would rather ski than work, takes a low-paying job at a ski resort so he/she can watch people with high-paying jobs ski while he/she is working.

Yes, I know what you're thinking. There is a delightfully twisted economic harmony in that term, isn't there? :p

What is the "long way"?
