Morning!

It's still cold out, and apparently will be for another 4.5 months.

It won't snow though. I put the blower, chains and wheel weights on my tractor yesterday. If I do it when it's not snowing, it usually doesn't then. If I do it while it's blizzarding outside, we get bombed with snow.

FWIW the small to mid sized lakes here in 320land are froze over and it looks like the temps will be cold enough to freeze the bigger lakes and make some serious ice in the next 7 days or so.

FWIW the small to mid sized lakes here in 320land are froze over and it looks like the temps will be cold enough to freeze the bigger lakes and make some serious ice in the next 7 days or so.

So you're saying within a few days the first numbskull of the winter will drive his sled through this and into the lake.

I hope to skate on our pond by tomorrow night, Checked yesterday and it was still a little thin. I hope we don't get much snow tomorrow. If we do it'll force water up from under the ice and make the surface crap as it freezes the snow to the ice. More work for me to scrape it off and flood it.

Yeah - we're supposed to get some pretty cold days toward the end of the week. I'm going to have to put the heat lamp in the coop for the hens. I don't think the cities are supposed to get too much snow, according to the forecast I watched this morning, but you never know.

How late did you stay? My drive home was messy but not that bad. And mmmm, chicken parm.

I did something to my left hip. It's very sore and I'm having a hard time walking. I went out to dinner last night and as I was walking to the car it felt a littls sore, like maybe I sat funny. Overnight it really started to hurt. I feel like it's a pulled muscle or something. I just took 4 Advil. I'll probably try to ice it tonight if it's still bad. Don't want to go to the doctor yet because by the time I can call and get to a doctor, it will probably be better. Why bother spending the time/money. I just wish I knew what I did.
