Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

Thanks for all the advice, guys :)

I think I've made the right decision, and I'll be "resigning" this afternoon.

EDIT: Sloe Gin, you were right, and I should've listened to you from the start.

The Irish themed bar I was at last night failed me. I went in and ordered a Guinness. The waitress says, "we're out". I would have walked out right then, but it was trivia night (and my team went on to win. $30 gift certificate to the bar). At least the shepherd's pie was yummy. As was the Newcastle, but it was not Guinness. :(

No Guinness at an Irish bar? Fire the assdumb Swede in charge of that place.

Ice like hell. Not an emergency unless you really can't move. They are going to tell you to take ibuprofen, Ice like hell (20 minutes on/20 minutes off) and gently move it for at least a week. If it is intolerable then go. (disclaimer- general advice, not for personal advice:p )

Ice helped alot but Wally isn't very nice when he doesn't get much sleep:D I can't take gobs of Advil as it wrecks my guts . I can take 2 but I can't take them all day long so thats out. Hopefully it will calm down without going to Drs office, I hate to go there with all the Flu birds running around:D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

So Lodge, I need some serious advice.

As most of you know I've been pledging at a sorority for the past 8 weeks...
We're almost done (1-2 weeks left) but I don't know if I want to do it anymore.
The time commitment's been huge. I've missed >half of our home hockey games because of it(more than I missed last year at all when I wasn't even a student)
I never see my family anymore, it's a financial burden..

If I quit, 24 girls are going to despise me, and most of the Greek community will greatly dislike me...
No frat parties for me, no "sisterhood"...

What it would mean: I'd have an extra 10+ hrs/week, I'd be less stressed, I'd be able to be a true hockey fan again.

What do you guys think?

being miserable builds character..

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

Honestly, the Pep Band was pretty much my fraternity. :D
Thats about what I figured it was. ;)

Where is the Fire Red thread?
Michigan loses to Tech at the GLI this year and it will pop up. ;)

Brent, is this you?

Saw it on TV yesterday and immediately wondered if you were OK. :D
WWWEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!:D :D :D :D

Follow your heart, not 24 others. :)

She's already a Michigan Tech fan. :p

ctf: Just be as up-front about it as possible to those girls - even if they don't like you for it, they ought to at least respect you for it.

Morning, Lodge. Still not much going on here, aside from two enormous projects staring me down. :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

Morning Lodge.
In six sigma training again, all day today. After today I still have 7 days left of this. :(
I'd like to have an affair with his wife...

I'm expecting her call any day now...:D
Got my tickets and an extra set as well...though I have better seats and they GET to sit next to me. :D
I'll need a ticket...:D
Good morning. Ug, big bill to get the rear breaks fixed on the car. Erf. Even worse is the POS Hyundai loaner which sealed the deal for me, I will never buy a Hyundai.
You ever considered buying one of those POS's?
Thanks for all the advice, guys :)

If you don't like it already, this is probably the right thing to do.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

For those of you keeping score from home regarding little g. Within the past few weeks he has made some big strides. He can now walk unassisted for quite a while and can even make turns! He struggles with balance and is far from perfect as he cannot get himself into a standing position without assistance but regardless he is doing it! Just a few months ago I thought he would never walk. I am now looking forward to a day when he might even be able to run.

We are looking into getting him involved in Taekwondo. It will help build upper body strength and maybe even add some confidence to his arsenal.

We are still pursuing the stem cell procedure and hopefully within the next few weeks we will be able to speak with one of the doctors to take the next step. No pun intended. :)

Hello Lodge. Next day off is next Tuesday :(

BUT. Well, nothing, I guess. I'm eating carrots?

Great news gmann.

Would someone share with me the code to cross out text in a post? That'd be awesome.

Is it Friday yet? I have zero motivation at work today.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

Good God no. The car getting fixed is an Acura and the dealership's loaners were gone so they set me up with a rental from Enterprise which happened to be the POS I'm driving today. If I ever bang my head and get a notion to buy one I will only need to think back to the 24 hours I had a Hyundai and common sense will return.

Way to go g!!! He now walks better than me!! :D
